Hello all you Maverick fans! I got a chance to crawl around a demo XLT Hybrid today. I took some shots of the less interesting or less glamorous places - unless you are a ratchet head like me :)

It was interesting to see that the bottom of the vehicle is nearly fully covered with panels, likely to reduce drag and increase fuel economy.

Here's the video, maybe you'll spot something new who knows. Enjoy...

It looks like the low hanging exhaust pipe was corrected in the production version, or did I miss it?

(1080p is still processing so come back in a bit if you must have HD)

This being a Hybrid there really weren't much underbody pics/vids before this first rate one.

Thanks so much for posting.

EXCELLENT! Thanks for making/posting this!

That's why I like the Maverick: I don't like unitbody construction, but unlike Maverick's unitbody competitors, the Maverick has integrated frame rails built into the rear of the truck, like a full frame vehicle.

Dude you rock, these are the shots no one thinks of taking and I am dying to see.
I like how the Hybrid undercarriage looks tider then the gas only version.

Also the goofie coolant lines and such in the engine bay for the electric motor plus no under the hood blanket can make a non-die hard fan think twice of getting this contraption.
But I guess easier to replace and repair parts I guess when the guts are hanging out like this.

Thanks. I appreciated the under belly views.
Out of curiosity, I was looking for a shot from in front of the front tires looking forward to see if Fog Lights could be mounted. Did you by chance see if there was room or a place to mount?

I also stopped by yesterday to check out the truck and could not tell. The wheel well liner was in the way. The slots on the bumper do not pop out, so you'd have to remove the bumper to cut it out with precision. I suppose once the bumper is off, you'll be able to locate mounting points. I'd follow @Mrboom_5.0 's progress on his tear down of his Maverick. He might be able to provide the answers.

I noticed the same. This looks like much less to get scraped etc.. Does anyone know if the underboby panels are only on the hybrid. I know someone said the battery is under body on passenger seat area-are panels to protect hybrid componets?
Other than hybrid and fx4 I don't believe so
