My oil life on the app reads 28% matching the one on the dash but I've only driven the truck less than 4000 miles and 3 months away from the date I took delivery.

I've seen posts from owners having their first oil change at 10k. Should I ignore it and reset it or take it in for service since I haven't done the recall stuff yet?

Do you drive on the highway a lot? I assume the oil life is calculated based on engine hours and workload mainly, so people who spend a lot of time at 75mph will probably need oil more often than people that just cruise around town in electric mode.

A basic oil change at the Ford dealership is about $75. Probably worth it over the life of the vehicle to care for the oil.

Yes I do! If that's the case then I'll just go ahead and have it done.

Engine hours and how it runs. Lots of short trips is worse.

I did my 1st @ 3724, at a different dealer than where I purchased (because the dealer didn't honor PP, finance incentives, or Farm Bureau).

I've put on 1006 since, and I have 69% life remaining.

It is estimating next January and/or an additional 2400 miles.

I took delivery in July '22.

80% of my driving is 1.5 miles at a time: to my place of employment, or to the grocery etc. All very short miles. Only one 1000 mile trip or longer to date.

Not surprisingly, my milage really sucks. No payload, easy driving and I average 16mpg a tank.

Mine's an Ecoboost, but also 3 months in with about 2700 miles on it. The Ford Pass app shows 76% oil life remaining, with an estimated service date of Jan 2024 . Don't think I'll wait that long ;)

He's got a hybrid, so that actually isn't true. They much prefer the short city drives.

Last July
imma guess that the oil change indicator is showing that you are coming up on the 12month oil change interval

I changed mine last weekend. 2.0/FX4. 5000 miles and 54% oil life left. $38.60 using Mobil1 and Mobil1 oil filter.
