First time washing the Mav....

Well, actually the second time, but the first time doing it at home....

It went well, until the washing got to the wheels. It seems like that the designers @Ford are golf fans, each fricken wheel has 18 holes. I did have the slightly tapered tool that looks like a.. a... cylindrical thingy, but still, that's 72 holes total. What were they thinking???

I am kind of worried using chemicals to remove the break dust, but going to ask anyway.

Is there a better way to clean the wheels? Other than hire someone that is...

Which wheels are you talking about? None of the factory wheels looks terribly difficult. I can see the black FX4 wheels being a bit harder.

Competitively speaking, the wheels on my 25 years old F150 were much easier to clean:

Otto, just use a good wheel cleaner, don't use it on a hot rim and don't let it sit long. I've been using Griot's wheel cleaner on my HRE's for 7 years now with no issues. Also, use your tears of sadness from the rangers losing to clean your rims. I hear they work well.

Ceramic coat them once they are clean. Saves lots of time washing in the future

Thanks Bill, I'll order Griot's wheel cleaner. In the meantime, could you come over and let me use your tears of sadness? You must be crying your eyes out, after the Rangers slapped around the the Devils, beating them 5-1.

in addition whatever the acid based cleaner from meguiar pro line was ive had god luck as far as contactless goes.
