I believe the procedure is the same for all Fords. You are trying to put the parking brake in service mode?

When finished doing brakes the procedure is the same except you hold the parking brake switch in the on position. No scan tool needed for this.

I unplug the park brake sensor, make sure it’s not applied, then take the 2 screws holding the electronic part on the the caliper , it just pulls off then, turn the indented star part on the caliper with a screw driver clockwise till it stops then push the piston in like a normal caliper put the electronic top back on plug it in after putting new pads and caliper back on and done, I do this on all electric park brake cars it’s easier then using the scan tool or the dash, works on all cars but Lexus .

Well crap. Just found that I can't make either the procedure or forscan work either...forscan tries, I can hear the PB retract and a warning comes up on the dash, then all clears and forscan says service mode interrupted. Same?

There's a TSB related to this. The 'fix' is BS if I'm being honest:

SSM 51217 2022 Maverick – Brake Service Mode Inoperative
Some 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit the brake service mode is inoperative when using the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure. To avoid this condition, do not use the brake service mode procedure described in the WSM. Instead, use Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool to activate the Brake Service Mode. Run the ABS-Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Service Tools app and select enter park brake maintenance mode.

Wtf. Why is it so complicated to change our own brake pads. I can't get any of this crap to work.

So now I have to pay someone for labor to use FDRS.

Im not happy @Ford Motor Company

Confirmed today, still no fix.

So I'm going rogue.

Ill disconnect the battery and any sensors as well as open the reservoir and just hope I don't have to bleed the system after, but if that's the case it's really not that big of a deal.

Not happy.

yeah, i tried again a few weeks ago at my last oil change and still no joy.
i went to the forscan site and searched for some type of update with no luck.
thankfully the stock rear pads still look good but my next oil change i will be installing the new powerstop V36 rear pads with or without forscan and flushing the brake fluid.
