Youāre right, I need to give these another look.
If you have that plugged into the usb port, and then plug the phone into the other usb port to charge, does the phone CarPlay supersede the wireless unit, or does it only charge the phone?
I've got the same problem in my '22. It's always been there. Multiple iOS versions, multiple head unit software updates, multiple cables (usb and usb-c) and it's still a problem. And that's if CarPlay starts up on the first try, too. Sometimes it'll take 4-5 minutes, or multiple reseatings of...
Yeah, Iāve gotten it a couple of times. Itās always a brief message, but itās either been a while since itās happened, or itās brief enough that I donāt notice it. Just a little quirk, not a big deal.
If you look at the windshield where the wipers sit when theyāre turned off, youāll see a small heating grid similar to the defroster grids in the rear window of most vehicles. Itās supposed to heat up and melt the ice that are on the wipers when the wipers are sitting there.
In my experience...
I've had some oddities, too.
Every once in a while, I get a message on the dash that tells me to push the clutch in to start the vehicle. Sometimes the chimes come through the stereo speakers, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the radio works, sometimes it doesn't.
Nothing serious, but it's not...
There's a TSB related to this. The 'fix' is BS if I'm being honest:
SSM 51217 2022 Maverick ā Brake Service Mode Inoperative
Some 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit the brake service mode is inoperative when using the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure. To avoid this condition, do not use...
Just finished installing this on my XLT. I wired it into the same switched power that my dash cam is running off of, and it works great.
Thereās no need for constant power to retain garage door info. I ran the power down the passenger side A-pillar to the fuse panel, and hooked up there. Thereās...
You need the little funnel if you're fueling up from a gas can, not from the pump. And the way I read it, he keeps several gas cans around, but doesn't like the gas to get old, so he'll fill his vehicle up from the cans every once in a while to cycle through it. I never saw where he said that...
My Ford branded hard roll up does the same thing. The tailgate will sometimes freeze to it, too. Iāve learned not to count on the bed in cold weather. š¤·āāļø
If memory serves me correctly (I'm on my 2nd glass of wine) those were always 'added cost' colors, but the build sheets for whatever reason didn't reflect that for a period of time. That's what kept me from going with Hot Pepper Red on mine when I ordered it in '21.
It doesnāt lock it into first gear, but it holds lower gears further into the rpm range. Itās useful for things like engine braking down a long steep hill.
That being said, I havenāt used it once.
I saw the other thread that was posted, and I still have no idea why that seat displays differently. I've just left is as being one of life's mysteries... If I do happen to learn anything, I'll be sure to pass it along. š¤·āāļø
It's the electrical connector to use with the 12v power points that are in the bed by the tailgate.
Here's a little video from Ford about it:

I had the āDeep Sleep Modeā problem, and the interior lights issue pretty consistently when I brought the vehicle home in January. I put a charger on, and fully charged the battery. Neither of these issues have popped up since.
If you're willing to travel about an hour and cross the Wisconsin border, I have nothing but great things to say about Tom Peck Ford in Clinton, WI. They even honored X-Plan. This is my third vehicle in a row with their dealership sticker on the back of it. They're a small dealer, so you'll get...
