Mine triggered 30+ times over 6-8 months at ~11.6 - 11.8 VDC resulting in no interior lights, and error messages to my app. I'd open the truck door, no interior lights, error message to the app, I put one of my Fluke meters on the under hood pins, and usually ~11.6VDC. I saw virtually zero voltage drop across the (sometimes) problematic cable as the voltage directly at the battery was the same as through the cable and at the pins... I'd put a high quality charger on it to recharge the battery then a few days later, same issue....

The voltage threshold for Deep Sleep is no where near 9.5vdc, it’s ~11.8.

I’ll post my DS update in my other thread, it appears to be resolved.....

Not sure how it is related, or if this data is helpful...but I have a 2020 Transit Van RV and I have it parked with a trickle charger keeping the start battery fully charged. Despite the battery voltage staying high, it shows as in Deep Sleep within about 10 days-2 weeks of sitting. It isn't caused by its voltage.

My Maverick has been mostly in the garage for the 3 weeks I've had it (lots of snow...and the Jeep is an easy choice) and it has gone into DS several times. It could be reacting to voltage as there is no charger on it. I brought up Fordpass and checked location, tires, etc...and right after I did that, it sent me the DS message.

This is not conclusive but for me I put a cheap 4 amp battery minder on my 12v (direct battery connection) for a short time. It read 12.5/12.6v by the minder, and I previously confirmed 12.5 with a multimeter a few weeks ago, but it has constantly been going into deep sleep for a long while. I’ve already had the harness replaced. After letting the battery minder ‘charge’ on it for an hour, it still read 12.6. But now I’m not getting deep sleep messages for the past two days. Any theories?

Had the update on TCM done and about one or two days later I got the message again SSM 51449 and 51228 for connectivity problem which the Ford Pass people identified again is for remote start, lock and unlock. So the next day when I went out to start the vehicle it was dead and wouldn't start was dead so it looks like something hung up electrically and ran the battery down this is the second time I suspect it could be something with locking it or unlocking. What ever the electrical component is staying energized is killing the battery. Maybe related to the modem causing it I know people have turned it off which then may not be problem then for deep sleep mode. Have requested another appointment with the dealer I think they should do away with the sleep mode it's not reliable. Luckily I have NOCO Booster I keep in the truck as soon as I connected that everything came back up and was able to start the Maverick May turn off the modem until dealer decides what to do.

Well had the Maverick at the dealer last week on Apr. 14 for problem related to SSM 51449 and 51228 for remote connectivity. Got the deep sleep message last week after the TCM Software Update for the inaccurate deep sleep message, locked the truck at night went out next day and wouldn't start battery was discharged had to use my NOCO booster jumped came right back up. Took it to the dealer again on the 14th. No codes and battery tested OK the dealer checked the SOC of the battery and kept dropping off. Dealer called the Ford Hotline long story short the Body Control Module required a software update from what it looks like certain MODULES OR DEVICES were are staying on Electrically draining the battery supposedly this update of the BCM is suppose to prevent battery from draining or discharging depending on what stayed on and also prevent what caused battery drainage. Will monitor it for the next few days dealer tested it for 2 days after the update and it stayed at 70% SOC. THe first time it happened the battery voltage dropped to 6 VDC this was the second time occurrence. Let's hope it's fixed will let ya know. Hopefully this would eliminate the deep sleep message problem that the only the "correct conditions" be reported when required and the SOC of the battery is maintained with no battery drain other than was is required.

I have been dealing with intermittent deep sleep mode interrupting app connectivity for several months. Bad battery replaced a few months after delivery last year and that resolved the same issue back then. It has now returned less than a year later. I checked the battery voltage at the terminals after receiving the message and before starting it, and I read 12.26V. No problems with starting ever. Is it possible the threshold for deep sleep mode could be that high? The service advisor I spoke with doesn't seem to think so but at some point I'll have to take it back in. Also, all accessories such as dash cams etc. are unplugged after driving so that's not an issue.

Your getting the erroneous or inaccurate deep sleep message which I got that was identified by the Ford Pass People switching off the modem in truck and back on again was identified as SSM 51449 that supposedly requires the TCM telemetry software update to eliminate it popping up. Has to be done by the dealer. Should only message you if it's at 9.5 VDC, after 2 weeks or if it's to hot or to cold

Hello! Thanks for telling us about the deep sleep mode issue with your Maverick's battery. I'm here to help! Can you DM me your VIN and dealer name so I can check this out? Thanks!

Hmm I got my modem unit fully replaced last month and I’m getting erroneous Deep Sleepies. I’ll see if my dealer can see if that update was not applied or something.

I'm still having a problem with this so called inaccurate deep sleep message contacted Ford Pass over the weekend they specified I was getting again for the third time on this problem message SM51449 and 20 diagnostic codes???. There were 2 software updates that were supposedly to fix the problem TCM and BCU the body control unit. This was identified by the Ford Pass people I talked to and they advised me to take it to the dealer again for as they identified as battery problem again and was checked for that. Made an appointment with the dealer again for the third time.

Has anybody actually found a permanent fix for this issue? I have a 2023 Maverick Hybrid with about 2600 miles. I parked it in my garage overnight last night and it was completely dead this morning. I did not leave any lights on or doors open. FordPass showed deep sleep mode, and the battery read 1v with my multimeter.

I was able to jump it to get it running again, but I’m sure my 12v battery is damaged from being so severely discharged. I’m hoping somebody can give me some advice about what fixed it for them so I can give the service center some guidance tomorrow.

It’s unbelievable that I’m now afraid to drive my brand new vehicle out of fear of getting stranded.

They had to replace my battery to the tune of just over $400, for the battery and “labor/diagnostics“.

No warranty on 1 mo. old, less than 1K miles because I had installed an RVi battery charger to keep the battery up while towing behind the motorhome and the dealer/Ford determined that external, third party device was to blame for the battery failure. Never mind that there are tens of thousands of similar RVi’s and others in use without a problem and a lot of documented Maverick battery failures.
