I was out of country for 5 weeks while my truck sat. I live in Colorado. I've been back a week now. Every morning when I try to use Remote Start on the Ford Pass app, it tells me the vehicle is in Deep Sleep Mode. Supposedly manually starting is supposed to turn that off, but I'm still getting it a week later. WTH do I have to do?

Check and maybe charge the 12 volt battery.

My hybrid is constantly in deep sleep mode, no interior lighting or exterior lighting since ever.

If I charge it with a 3amp charger overnight,, it will last 2 days ish. I will be bringing this up for its first service.

I was getting the deep sleep message off and on for several months.

I charged my battery overnight and then reset the BMS and haven't gotten the deep sleep message since January 16th.

I drive once or twice a week and my 200mi 2023 Ecoboost was hitting deep sleep after a few days. Weather has been between 0F-30F and the truck sits in an insulated garage, I haven't added any aftermarket electronics yet.

It's been a month without issues after I deleted the truck from Ford Pass, did a factory reset through the infotainment screen, then disabled any of the telematics stuff and declined any skippable privacy agreements. You'll lose Ford Pass remote start, unlocks, etc. The optional, fob-based remote start still functions.

If it's like my wife's Subaru, the constant cellular telematics uploads are draining the battery. With newer Subarus you can hit the lock button a few times until the horn honks to enter manual deep sleep mode, I haven't found anything similar for the Maverick.

Thank you, and thanks for posting instructions. That looks like the answer. I'll do that as soon as I get home. It's getting so there is so much electronics drawing voltage when your vehicle is turned off, I may have to leave the truck on a trickle charger just like I do my motorcycles sitting in an unheated garage. Either that or turn off the FordPass hotspot.

Thank you. I may do that as well. Winter is almost over, and I don't like that Ford can track everywhere I drive.

I left my Ford pass connection active. I like having the remote start and I get alerts if my perimeter plus alarm has been set off. I did turn off Wi-Fi in the truck settings.

Still no deep sleep after over a month of resetting the BMS. I just added a kicker hideaway under the rear seat. I'll see if that affects power draw.

Y'all need to make sure when you charge these batteries, it is connected so that the BMS sensor captures the current flow. Typically, you want the negative to be connected to a ground and not the battery terminal. There are YouTube videos about it, like this one (rather long and uses an F-150 as example, but the idea is the same)

If you have a trickle charger connected on the battery side of the sensor, it will never see that current.

If the BMS reset doesn't fix the problem you may have a bad battery which should be replaced under warranty. You shouldn't have to disable features either, if you don't want to. The Ecoboost has an enhanced flooded battery which should be adequate but will not perform as well as an AGM in cold climates. I will likely upgrade mine in a few years. Have only had deep sleep twice after it sat for a couple weeks in cold weather. EFB lifespan is going to be about 6 years.

Today I tried three times resetting the BMS according to the instructions you posted. The battery signal on the dash would not blink like it was supposed to, and I still got the Deep Sleep warning when trying Remote Start. Then I noticed a little X in the upper right corner of the Deep Sleep warning. So I just clicked on it to make the warning go away and it started! I wonder if that would work if my oil light came on, just cut the wire to the warning light! ;-)

I think I had to do it twice for the Battery light to blink.

In my experience it takes maybe 5 seconds or so after completing the reset sequence before the battery light does its confirmation.
