I just hate putting anything adhesive on a brand new car/truck paint.

If you mount it and leave it for 10 years and then it breaks off or something I'd hate to see spots where the adhesive might fade differently than the rest of the paint. Not sure if this happens like it used to on older cars - I remember seeing cars with bumper sticker spots that were a different color than the rest of the vehicle.

I just don't have much experience with these. Seems like the aftermarket one allows more cleaning of the hood versus a taped on one? I'd be worried about what happens underneath the taped on version. Would be interesting to hear what people have experienced with these before, especially what things looked like if/when they removed them.
I think someone makes one that attaches by hood rivets, but cant remember what company.I hate the tape tp

Advice, I know it is a preference, I ordered the Ford Hood Protector, but took a dealer credit instead. I have the First Edition Rapid Red Lariat Hybrid and I didn't like the look on front of the hood decal. I am retired and don't drive much as when I worked full time.
Did I make the right choice not putting it on?

I had my dealer install both the hood and door deflectors, using my Ford points to cover most of the cost. I am happy with both. I like the clean look of the stick on hood deflector.

Can the hood deflector be removed without any damage to the paint?

Answer - you're supposed to be able to remove it without damage. If you leave it on there for 10 years though you'll end up with some difference in paint color I'm sure.

Still loving my Aeroskin 2 deflector. I wanted one that Actually deflected wind for rock/bug protection, especially since a rock cracked my Windshield 12 days after I bought it. Haven't had a rock or hardly any bugs hit the Windshield since, 10k miles later.

The one with the bump is discontinued, I think, possibly due to hood shake that can be fixed TSB & FIX: Hood Flutter Shake at Highway Speeds | Page 13 | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions

Part number is VNZ6Z-16C900-C I found mine at my dealer.
A lot of sites list VPZ6Z-16C900-A as it's replacement. Which has no lip and was of no interest to me. Attaches with 3m tape, but I could care less if the paint may be slightly discolored in 10-15 years as I never plan on taking it off.
