Besides setting the Drive Mode Control to "Tow/Haul" is there anything needed to get the 4 pin trailer lights to work?

Ford did some weird trailer wiring recently, and this may be your issue. My Maverick isn't here yet, but I have a 2020 Transit that I tow with. I tried to do a continuity check for the various pins, but got strange readings.Besides setting the Drive Mode Control to "Tow/Haul" is there anything needed to get the 4 pin trailer lights to work?
For an EB with 4K tow package - Attached a 4-pin trailer: no lights.you may need to do what I did and actually connect a trailer lighting system to see if that does it.
Sounds like a problem. For an EB with 4K tow package - Attached a 4-pin trailer: no lights.
That’s because Mavericks like many modern Tow vehicles have a powered converter built into the circuit to sense the presence of a trailer being plugged in. The trailer needs to be plugged in in order for the correct voltages to be present..Ford did some weird trailer wiring recently, and this may be your issue. I finally found out that in order to get the hitch electrical connector to work, I needed to 1. turn the ignition on and 2. actually connect the trailer in order to have power in the connector. Without the trailer connected, I got odd readings and some pins seemed to be unconnected. You might just try one of the 4-pin testers with lights...but if all else fails, you may need to do what I did and actually connect a trailer lighting system to see if that does it.
Do you have the factory 4 pin hitch installed? If so plug in the trailer and hook it up to ball then turn the maverick on (be sure the trailer is properly wired to it's 4 pin connector). If your turn signals on the dash hyper flash your trailer may not be wired properly or some bulbs are out. I have not hooked up my trailer yet so have not tried this yet. Someone reported that the trailer lights are controlled by computer. I have not confirmed this yet. You should not necessarily have to have truck in tow/haul but maybe it has to be that way if it's computer controlled.Besides setting the Drive Mode Control to "Tow/Haul" is there anything needed to get the 4 pin trailer lights to work?
Check to see the 4 pin ground wire (white) is grounded to the trailer somewhere properly. After it feeds through the 4pin plugs!Sounds like a problem.
My trailer lights come on when I use the keyfob to lock and unlock the doors. I don't even need the truck running, any key in the ignition, or any "mode" at all.
You may have a bad fuse or loose wire.
Looks like my first issue with the new truck, which otherwise has been great. Not sure who to approach.Sounds like a problem.
