Looks like my first issue with the new truck, which otherwise has been great. Not sure who to approach.
Hi, before toubleshooting the tow vehicle have you recently confirmed the trailers lights all work when plugged into another vehicle? Verifying would instantly cut the problem in half and allow you to know where to focus.

If you confirm the trailer is properly working, some underhood truck fuses to check are 37, 44, 48 and 69. The Fuse location is on page 292 of the Owners Manual.

Good luck....

Yes, trailer worked before and after on in-law's car.

Got a Harbor Freight 4 prong $3 tester - and while the signals and brakes work, it's just the running lights that don't. Still haven't checked the fuses yet.

That’s because Mavericks like many modern Tow vehicles have a powered converter built into the circuit to sense the presence of a trailer being plugged in. The trailer needs to be plugged in in order for the correct voltages to be present..

Will the small testers work with this? Or maybe not enough load.

It might be that it's looking for ALL LED bulbs or ALL INCANDESCENTS? for computer to control proper resistance range??

Well, we have the original data point: the Maverick doesn't work with the trailer which does work with the other car (an older Ford).

So sure we can wonder if the inexpensive tester is compatible with Mavericks '22 eletronics, but we still know the running lights don't work with the trailer. It just seems unlikely that the Maverick would be designed to only work with trailers that are full LED, or full incandescent.

OP, if it’s the tester here I don’t know if that will work with modern vehicles with powered converter modules

Do you have a way to apply 12vdc to the trailer plug? Battery negative to the negative side of the plug, then 12 volts to each of the 3 trailer circuits one at a time and check for full operation?

Good luck

Have you tried setting the headlights to manual? Might be auto doesn't energize the running lights during daylight. Just a thought. My trailer is snowed in right now so I can't test it.

My boat trailer lights work fine (all led) but if I use my magnetic tow lights ( I use them for a small trailer) which are regular bulbs, I get a message that there is a problem with the trailer light module. Weird thing is the tow lights are a self contained system so no bad ground? I'm at a loss as to what's wrong but a trip to the dealer is prob the best bet to get it tested/checked.

Your dealer....this is covered under your 3/36K warranty.
Update, dealer fixed, no charge under warranty

It was a couple of fuses plus BFA:CIRCUIT BREAKER ASY

Perhaps something blew on the assembly line.

With two problems I decided not to check the fuses myself, let them do it under warranty. Glad I didn't spend time hunting fuses down only to find it was also a circuit breaker, or housing.

No problems with the truck otherwise, though the USB music player can be a little finicky. Still much better than what I had before.
