I initially intended to order a Lariat Tremor, but my dealer told me the wait would be year, or as much as two. So I elected to go for a Lariat FX4. Before I agreed with that order, I was told it would be 6 months to a year. I knew that going in. I ordered it a little over 2 months ago, so I now have only 4 to 10 months to wait…YEA!!!!!

Might as well chime in along with everyone else's whinning. Ordered my 9/28/21. XLT Hybrid with Luxury pkg. Thats it. got a VIn number early Oct 22 with late Oct production. Then a Nov 9th production. Then a Nov 14th production. Then a call from my dealer saying NO to a 2022 production after I missed the opportunity to order a 23 with constraints removed. Frankly I dont know where I sit in the pecking order. Dealer doesnt have a clue either...now thats what is frustrating.

Ford builds according to what they have, not who ordered first. If yours is a reorder with a 10 Priority level, it should be built in the next couple months. I'm hoping Ford builds the one I ordered 2 months ago sometime next year. I'm not holding my breath though. Be patient, or cancel. Only 2 options. If you cancel, the dealer won't cancel it from Ford, they will just mark it up when it arrives for retail sale.
I ordered Lariet on Nov 16th, 21. Mine has been changed to a 23. Received letter confirming letter 45 days after reorder. Hoping for Feb delivery but no vin or any other info.

Thanks for the reply - Hopefully, they can build it in the next few months. I was really hoping to have it for ski season - guess that's not happening.
I really feel for you. I did finally get my Maverick almost a year after ordering. But it's just nuts that you can't buy a car or truck these days. I think times are changing as used prices are dropping like a rock. At some point new markup's will stop as well. But it's so frustrating these days

I respectfully disagree with LSchicago, I do not believe there is any rhyme or reason to when ford builds an order and I am certain that Ford does not attempt to keep track of order "age" before doing new builds. I placed my order Oct 2021 and have been rolled to the 2023 model year, still no build date. I have followed this forum since I ordered and there have been plenty of Mavericks built and delivered for orders placed after mine that have more "constraints" than my order. FORD has proven with this Maverick fiasco that they do not care about their customers, if they did they would communicate with those of us who have placed orders long ago and advise us if there is anything we could do to get our orders built or at least assure us that we have priority over new similar orders. I have removed every constraint listed except copilot 360 on both an ecoboost and hybrid order to no avail. I plan to take delivery of my mavericks, if they are ever built, and immediately sell them and try to make some profit to offset the 13 months of my time ford has wasted, In my lifetime the company I founded and I personally have purchased a lot of ford trucks and SUV's, but I will never give FORD my business again!

You laid out that wall of text, without a single mention of how many allocations and orders your dealer had/has? If your dealer does not have an allocation available for your order, then they- not ford- are the ones you should be complaining about.

What is your priority level?

I guess LSChicago forgot that FORD claimed that allocations on 2022 model year orders would not play a factor in scheduling and priority woud be given based on when the order was placed. Ford of course chaqnged their tune for 2023 model year orders and went back to the "old school" way of favoritism for larger dealerers. I was priority 2 from May of 2022 until August 2022 when they informed me that I would be rolled over. My dealer put me at Priority 10 when they placed the 2023 model year rollover order (it is another example of FORD shortcomings that this was even required since, for Bronco orders, the rollover order was automatic and did not require a reorder by the customer or dealer). I cannot believe anyone on this forum would try to defend FORD's handling of the Maverick order fulfillment process, I will admit that maybe it is not that FORD does not care about customers, maybe they are just incompetent or both? There is no excuse for FORD's handling of Maverick order processing.

I ordered my Ford Maverick mid December of 2021. My dealer had me reorder/cancel that order and send in a new order for a 2023.
I was one of 3 out of 40 orders from my dealer that didn't get built.
I then got an email from Ford saying there were still delays and they would update me in 45 days!!!
I see on here that other people ordered later than me and got their Maverick this year.
My dealer also has used Mavericks but they are 5-6K more than I am supposed to pay!!
I looked at getting my deposit back but there is nothing out there at that price.
I looked at used Ford Rangers and Honda Ridgelines but to keep it in the same price range, I have to buy a 5 year old car with mileage on it.
Plus the gas mileage is not as good as the Maverick.

I am wondering if Ford is just going to wait until I back out and then they can make my truck and sell it for 5-6K more.
My dealer is getting sick of me asking for updates - he doesn't have any!!!
Getting tired of waiting - is it based on geographical region of the US? I am way up here in Northern Vermont.

Anybody else been waiting as long as I have or longer? It's depressing to go to this site and see people get their truck in 4-5 months.
It was not a special order - I ordered a black XLT with no special features.
This sucks - I want my Maverick.
Amazing how during WW2, Ford could adjust the assembly line for Tanks and Jeeps to produce more. Here they have had nearly 2 years of a big demand and 21st century technology can't come close to compare to 1940s demand.

Yes, because cranking out entry level unibody "trucks" is just as important as winning a world war.

A priority 10 means nothing other than it having higher priority than other orders of similar builds at that same dealership. I have three orders, all priority 19, all scheduled to be built in the next 4 weeks.

I've been waiting longer than you. Oct. 3, 2021. Welcome to the old timers club.

I know exactly what it means. Obviously your dealer isn't holding onto any 10 Priority orders.

If you knew exactly what it meant, you would know that my dealer could very well have other orders that are priority 10, that have not yet been picked up due to them having constrained options.

Telling someone "If yours is a reorder with a 10 Priority level, it should be built in the next couple months." is just not accurate. Reorders with priority 10 are no different than new orders with priority 10. And priority 10 vs 11-19 means very little. So you are basically saying everyone with a priority 10 order, reorders and new orders, "will be built in the next couple months". And that is just not possible.

Of course constrained items will push back a priority 10 order if that item is not available. But the priority 10 will remain that and should be picked up as soon as the constrained item is available. Which should push it up to just a few months or less rather than all year with constraints and a 19. It's not rocket science.
