After hearing Tim mention the "Splitting" of the Co-pilot system I thought I better double check. I originally ordered 11/4/21 then re ordered 9/?/22. Ordered Exactly the same but deleted black painted wheels. I was given a build week of 12/19 last week. I called my dealer just to double check and to make sure it was added. She said Her and The Manager found out it the "assist" portion was removed by ford and will be credited. She said quote this came directly from Ford our hand are tied this is coming from the top managment. It'll have good trade in value. That makes me lose faith in Ford.
I genuinely think the dealers just didn't have a clue what was actually happening with the changes with the order banks opened. I ordered mine on day one of the banks and the salesman very clearly stated that the 360 was everything (quoting me 2022 specs) I believe that's what he actually thought at the time. Later in my own research I found out that they split it and called back to make them add the assist portion. What pissed me off is that is they acted like it was they told me which I'm 100% certain they never did. Ford website still had 2022 info up when the banks opened and the sales people were 100% fudging it. All of that AND cost me an extra $750. Fortunately it got added though and I have a build date for the week of 12/12. If you don't have a vin yet though you can absolutely add it. I did-- even though they really tried to talk me out of it.

No doubt it was a genuine mistake. My dealer had me fill out a form they have online for the order (dealer's website not Ford site). Obviously it was based on '22 packages because the guide had just come out so the website wasn't up to date. I made sure I mentioned in the comments the need for Assist, then emailed them about it as well. Checked the build sheet very carefully to verify before I signed.

Easy to see how this happened. Order guide comes across hours before the banks open then the dealers get slammed, all on top of normal day-to-day things they need to be doing. Easy to miss subtle changes. They are not hanging out digesting this stuff on message boards like us. I have had to fill the dealer in a number of times, but I get why.

Stil dealer should explain what happened not try to pawn it off.

This is not a case of deleted without notice, but instead that options and packages changed for my2023. The order guides for 2023 show the updated packages. "Assist"can still be added but requires certain other options and trims. I understand the frustration but year over year package changes are common. Your dealer knew (or had access to the info) when putting in your 2023 order.

I hope this is B S because I love the CP. I have the full meal deal and it has saved my bacon twice. I took the time to read the owners manual 3 + times to understand it. I will never have a car without it or a similar feature. Two head on accidents avoided in 3 months. Say what you want but don’t travel without it.
I was backing out of a parking spot yesterday and the warning beeps went on for a pedestrian I saw but good to know if I hadn't seen him it worked and avoided any mishap or close call

I learned how to drive long before cars knew how (well cars have not perfected driving yet). With or without CP360 and CP360A, I still know how to drive - and probably better. CP360 is not even close to being a deal breaker for me.
So has pretty much every person on these forums. But I certainly appreciate you declaring how much of a great driver you are, and adding so much to the topic of this thread.

It's standard on the Ridgeline so I think it's boiling down to an expensive system on a " supposed low cost truck" Just the ACC and evasive steering cost$$$. Just my opinion

I haven't read all the comments and I'm sure someone has let you know but here it is from me. Your dealer is technically correct that Ford removed features from the Co-Pilot 360 Package on the Lariat from 22MY to 23MY. But they did include the change on the order guide "Major Changes" page (page 1 by the way). Since all orders (new and carryover) were needing to put it in the 2023 order bank it is your dealer's fault for not letting you know that the Lariat Luxury Package was missing 6 items which is why it is cheaper. And that 3 are now included in the Co Pilot 360 Assist Package. And 3 are stand alone options. The dealer needs to take the hit on this screw up, not Ford.

Just my take, don't blame it all on Ford, the dealer and salespeople are at fault on this. I can tell you that I relayed the information to my sales people and even some of them missed it on some of our orders. As I put in orders at our dealership, if I saw that the CP360Assist wasn't chosen then I told the salesperson to check with the customer but I didn't put in all of our orders.

Tim,
I would totally agree if they aren't swearing that Ford removed it and is creditig it back to me. I have no idea who to believe at this point but Dealers still represent Ford. Maybe they need to start cleaning house because disatisfied is disatified.

Can someone explain why the cp360 and 360a proponents are sooooo adamant about those options? Personally I’d rather not have them. No repairs in the future and nothing intrusive when i drive. I just want to drive. That said, why do some like these features so much?
I ordered mine without.

Your dealer is misrepresenting the truth. Believe the people with no reason to tell you anything different.

But your frustration (while valid in general) at Ford is like saying you are mad at Samsung because Best Buy said a fridge had a feature that it doesn't have. Ford doesn't control the dealers any more than any other manufacturer controls the stores that sell their stuff.

Interesting situation. One of the things I made clear to my dealership was ACC was a requirement and I confirmed with the DORA that my order has CP360A on it. I have not seen anything about Ford removing that. Especially with Ford announcing CP360A being under capacity now.

I like not having the feather the throttle on two-lane highways or when the interstate gets into the city. Regular cruise will full-speed it into a wall whereas ACC will adjust your speed to the traffic but then return to your set speed once traffic clears. I'm not one of those that get a thrill out of traveling. It is just a necessary evil to get to where I need to be. If someone were to invent a transporter system, I would never buy another vehicle ever again.

The lane-keeping is neither here nor there. I have an essential tremor so I do appreciate the minor assist but my Escape can get a little overzealous at times.
I feel extremely bad for anybody that deems driving your brand new vehicle a “necessary evil”. You buy a car to get from point A to point B, true. But getting a special vehicle like these are made for driving. For gripping the wheel right and squeezing that pedal. Driving is a luxury. Especially in a special lil truck like a Maverick. Get an old beat up Toyota if A-to-B is your goal. Don’t hold up the line for others

That's where you are wrong. I can tell you if Dealers were screwing with buyers Harley would pull the Franchise from that owner in a minute. Manufacture's can and do control Dealerships.

I have it on my Maverick Lariat. Just received 2 weeks ago. I did a 400 mile trip and the Adaptive Cruise and Pilot features were great.

I bought an EB, so I don't think I'm actually in anybody's way given the numbers we have seen. Also, I need a reliable truck. If the "Cash-for-Clunkers" debacle and Covid pandemic both didn't remove thousands of perfectly workable used cars from the market, maybe I could buy an affordable, small Toyota pickup. But as it is, used pickups cost more than the Maverick.

Therefore, I'll buy the Maverick and I'll get the features that are similar to the Escape I already own so I don't spend the first ten minutes of every drive trying to remember where everything is.
