Can someone explain why the cp360 and 360a proponents are sooooo adamant about those options? Personally I’d rather not have them. No repairs in the future and nothing intrusive when i drive. I just want to drive. That said, why do some like these features so much?
You'd need to go try them. Summer 2021 I had the chance to spend almost a week in an Audi Q7 and Hyundai Santa Fe which both had adaptive cruise and side & rear warnings. Very very helpful! Especially driving long distances, helps reduce the stress of driving, while you are still totally in control.

I ordered my Mav with all those options, I hadn't even realized the insurance will make up for some of it. :)

Interesting situation. One of the things I made clear to my dealership was ACC was a requirement and I confirmed with the DORA that my order has CP360A on it. I have not seen anything about Ford removing that. Especially with Ford announcing CP360A being under capacity now.

I like not having the feather the throttle on two-lane highways or when the interstate gets into the city. Regular cruise will full-speed it into a wall whereas ACC will adjust your speed to the traffic but then return to your set speed once traffic clears. I'm not one of those that get a thrill out of traveling. It is just a necessary evil to get to where I need to be. If someone were to invent a transporter system, I would never buy another vehicle ever again.

The lane-keeping is neither here nor there. I have an essential tremor so I do appreciate the minor assist but my Escape can get a little overzealous at times.

I learned how to drive long before cars knew how (well cars have not perfected driving yet). With or without CP360 and CP360A, I still know how to drive - and probably better. CP360 is not even close to being a deal breaker for me.

Have you tried driving faster? Or can your old eyes not process the rate in which things come at you when traveling the blistering speed of the posted speed limit?
Yeah, so now let's do 100+ mph in a 60 mph work zone - 45 mph Where Workers Present - only to still have people like you badly tailing us, what could possibly go wrong!

That's the thing. When you wanna "manually" drive, you can. When you wanna "auto" drive, you can do that too. It's been my observation that those that do have some sort of "auto drive", feel more rested after a long trip, and more alert during the trip. I added it because the Mav will be our "road trip" vehicle for a while and I plan on keeping it for 10-15 years or more. Plus, I like tech sometimes. As for the OP's quandry, it's probably likely the dealer didn't add the CPA to your order, that feature isn't really constrained at the moment, and even if it was, it's still the customer's option to add whatever they want to their order. Like others have said, where's your order sheet? There's been no official memo from Ford corporate about deleting that option from orders afaik. All of that said, hopefully you can get it added, try to on a Monday or a Friday...Tues, Weds, & Thurs are the days Ford is messing with orders for scheduling and the system doesn't like to allow changes (again afaik)

Ok, thank you. This i understand. It’s for people who don’t really like to drive and would rather be a passenger.

For me, i have driver cars. A zr1, and a couple challengers, a full off-road Jeep etc. I’m more of an engagement while driving guy.
Makes sense now
Well, I believe your statement is both prejudicial and inaccurate. Just because a person wants additional safety features in their vehicle doesn't mean they don't like to drive, or "would rather be a passenger." Personally, I love to drive, and while I've never had the money to spend on something like a ZR1 or a Porsche 911 Turbo (my son's dream car), I've enjoyed driving plenty of old British sports cars (MG B, Austin-Healey Sprite, Triumph Spitfire and TR-4), and even owned a Mercedes SLK (used, off-lease). All of those got driven a LOT, including 1,000 mile (plus) trips on several occasions.

So don't tell me I only want those safety features in my Maverick so I can "just be a passenger" because that's total BS. I want them because they enhance safety, even on my worst days as a driver.

Your statements remind me of some of my fellow pilots who distain the use of ADS/B – a moving-map cockpit tool that shows where other airplanes are around you in the sky, and indicates whether they are above, below, or at your same altitude, and warn of potential collisions. Their augument is "Why would anyone want to be 'heads-down' in the airplane looking at the instrument instead of scanning outside for traffic? That's foolish and dangerous! I use the 'see and avoid' method of looking outside the airplane with my own two eyes." This despite MOUNTAINS of evidence that it is incredibly hard to see other airplanes in the air on your own, but once told exactly where to look by the ADS/B tools, they become immediately apparent!

Dealers would never lie, trying to shift the blame to the manufacturer. Inconceivable!

I avoid an accident per month with two SUV's, 1one work truck and one personal truck that all have the CP360. BLIS, cross traffic , lane keeping and driver alert for just $650. The plus has ACC evasive steering and rear park sensors. There is everything to like about those proven safety features.

If you have not had a vehicle with them or don't like the option to turn them off then go with a bare bones vehicle. Remember you can't add them later.

As the great Luis Armstong said when someone asked what is Jazz? He responded if you have to ask you will never know. Just saving one crash makes it worth it. Just another tool in the box.

I hope this is B S because I love the CP. I have the full meal deal and it has saved my bacon twice. I took the time to read the owners manual 3 + times to understand it. I will never have a car without it or a similar feature. Two head on accidents avoided in 3 months. Say what you want but don’t travel without it.
