After hearing Tim mention the "Splitting" of the Co-pilot system I thought I better double check. I originally ordered 11/4/21 then re ordered 9/?/22. Ordered Exactly the same but deleted black painted wheels. I was given a build week of 12/19 last week. I called my dealer just to double check and to make sure it was added. She said Her and The Manager found out it the "assist" portion was removed by ford and will be credited. She said quote this came directly from Ford our hand are tied this is coming from the top managment. It'll have good trade in value. That makes me lose faith in Ford.

I hope they're not pulling that crap across the board. I would have added it to my XLT if I could have. I wanted every single safety feature I could get when I ordered the wife's Bronco Sport. If they drop the assist on it I'll be super pissed. I would have ordered a cheaper trim if I couldn't get the assist anyways.

I definitely smell something somewhere. Ford VS Dealer reorder but the order number was one that even the dealer didn't recognize. So I have no idea if they merged orders or what. Dealer is just as confused they didn't get notified it was being built???

Do you have access to your window sticker yet?

I will be walking from the Maverick if I can't get CP360 & CP360A as configured on my build.

Can someone explain why the cp360 and 360a proponents are sooooo adamant about those options? Personally I’d rather not have them. No repairs in the future and nothing intrusive when i drive. I just want to drive. That said, why do some like these features so much?

Interesting situation. One of the things I made clear to my dealership was ACC was a requirement and I confirmed with the DORA that my order has CP360A on it. I have not seen anything about Ford removing that. Especially with Ford announcing CP360A being under capacity now.

I like not having the feather the throttle on two-lane highways or when the interstate gets into the city. Regular cruise will full-speed it into a wall whereas ACC will adjust your speed to the traffic but then return to your set speed once traffic clears. I'm not one of those that get a thrill out of traveling. It is just a necessary evil to get to where I need to be. If someone were to invent a transporter system, I would never buy another vehicle ever again.

The lane-keeping is neither here nor there. I have an essential tremor so I do appreciate the minor assist but my Escape can get a little overzealous at times.

Most of the features of CP360 and CP Assist came standard with my Civic. I can turn them off at any time and leave them off (I have to intentionally turn on lane centering and have lane departure off at all times) but having the options is quite nice. Particularly when the Vegas wind picks up and tries to throw lighter vehicles around, lane centering helps when my reaction isn't as fast as an incoming gust. Not sure where the concern about requiring repairs comes from - if you didn't want them anyway then if they break it won't be a hinderance.
What I really want from those packages is the backup sensor and blind spot detection, but lane centering is nice to have as well. Adaptive cruise control I haven't used much but it was convenient when going on a couple of road trips where people kept wanting to change speed randomly.

More safety features you have, the lower your insurance premium can be. Every little bit helps.

I always appreciate the irony/cognitive dissonance when the people who complain about all of these new features on vehicles being more to break are at the same time the sort who adamantly maintain that ESPs are a waste of money because of how reliable modern vehicles are.

I thought dealers were supposed to review and make sure the 'new' orders were what the customer wanted? It was clear on September 15th that CP360 was split and needed to be ordered as two parts. Even my dealer knew that and they were not aware the order bank had opened yet.

Not sure your dealer is giving you the full story. Certainly it came directly from Ford that CP360 was splitting, but the dealer still had the responsibility to make sure you got what you wanted. I would ask for the build sheet they submitted on September 15th.

This part is understated. My wife's 2020 Escape SEL with CP360 costs less to insure than its predecessor, a paid for base 2008 Ford Escape.

I'm not sure I would use all of the features but some like object warning when you are backing up are very valuable. And depending on your driving conditions the other features may (or may not) be useful. I've been driving well over 50 years and I get older and slower every year and the number of idiots allowed to drive increases. It is dangerous out there with people on their phones, not paying attention and just plain not knowing what common curtesy is. I'll take all the 'safety' features I can get.
