At least the '23 orders are going into the situation with a "heads up" as to the lengthy wait. Over a year ago my salesman told me 4 to 8 weeks.
Lengthy for some, sure. But they make about the same amount each month, and so the 2023s will be like 2022s: roughly 1/12th of the orders get fulfilled each month. Plenty of folks will have pretty short waits.

Hopefully, we'll see. I have a scheduled date of 1/6 but it's my 5th one.

how many scheduled but cancelled '22 hybrids are there? I was thinking less than 5,000ish...due to a capacity of about 8,000 units and one month to build those VIN trucks.

So if that is true, it's not such a big deal. I expect there were about the same or less '22 hybrids that were rolled over. Say 10,000 hybrids that got pushed into '23?

My thinking is that the grim news is mostly for the new '23 hybrid orders.

The only option we have on our reordered EB XLT MY23 (a “rollover” of our never-built MY22 order) is the hitch receiver. (Not the 4K pkg)

It’s been scheduled (so far) for the week of 11/28, and we have a VIN.

For fun, I called Ford Customer Service yesterday to check on the status, and was told it’s still on the schedule for production in three weeks … and has an estimated delivery date to the dealer of 01/02/2023. (which would be a Happy New Year for us, for sure.)

But, of course … We shall see. Sorry to hear that the hitch receiver has become a problem, but I gotta believ, since we have been sceduled, that there’s one set aside for our Maverixk.

Some quick Excel math.

48.53% of hybrids cannot be built.
Ford as over half of their EB capacity still open.
Ford has 3X as much Tremor capacity remaining as orders taken.
Ford has 2X as much CP360 Assist capacity remaining as orders taken.
Ford has almost double the number of moonroof capacity remaining as orders taken.

Assuming an equal number of hybrids took the hitch (65%), then the hitch overage is actually proportional to the hybrid overage. So, if you end up constrained due to hybrid, then the hitch over orders would have made no difference anyway.

As of now many hybrids won’t be built, but that doesn’t mean it can’t change down the line..

I ordered a '23 lariat in October. Salesman told me a year. More grim than THAT?

I calculated ~27,000 remaining hybrids capacity. That would be a chunk of them. But my numbers were based on Tim's numbers. If Ford ups the overall capacity to 100,000, then more of the leftover hybrids will be built. There just won't be any stock hybrids and plenty of stock EBs.

I didn't write them down because it was laughably low. If you want pretty much any of the appearance packages, the demand is below capacity.

Tim said Ford planned on 10%, and currently has 8% orders...but that 8% will increase when the bunch of us add it... when our 22 orders get changed next week.

I would have added it in a heartbeat if it was available on the fx4.
