How is that possible when there are already virgin 23s with VINs and scheduled build dates, and the cancelled 22s won't even get converted/new VINs for a while yet?And the MY22 cancellations will be first.

Probably! Looking over the numbers, I think the hitch thing will end up being a wash. Assuming a proportional number of hitch orders are both hybrid and EB, then the hitch over orders will be removed by the unbuilt hybrid orders. So, I don't think it is worth removing. The hybrid itself will prevent the build more than the hitch.I ordered two XLs with only hitches, one EB, one HYB. Both have 12/19 build dates scheduled. Ordered on last day bank was open. Our 22 was one of the earlier deliveries too. Perhaps I should grab a couple scratch-offs.
Because once Ford moves those MY22s back up at the end of the month, they will be put at the front of the line in front of any other MY23 hybrids. But Ford wasn't going to just not build anything for a month while the paperwork got lined up.How is that possible when there are already virgin 23s with VINs and scheduled build dates, and the cancelled 22s won't even get converted/new VINs for a while yet?
Does this mean people aren't really going for the Black Appearance Package?Appearance packages are all under capacity compared to orders.
Onboarding an additional hitch supplier is reasonable solution to this constraint. Material is available, manufacturing capability and capacity are available. What the Ford! It's not like hitches are made by Renesas Electronics in Japan.well looks like tomorrow is the day to remove the hitch.
Build dates can be and have been moved quite a bit in the past.How is that possible when there are already virgin 23s with VINs and scheduled build dates, and the cancelled 22s won't even get converted/new VINs for a while yet?
Are you saying that the cancelled 22s are going to be built first, or are you saying that the cancelled 22s will be priority once all the conversion rigamarole is completed (and after some non-cancelled orders are built)?Because once Ford moves those MY22s back up at the end of the month, they will be put at the front of the line in front of any other MY23 hybrids. All that means is whatever little capacity there was already for MY23 hybrids will be taken by the cancelled MY22s once those orders roll over in a couple weeks... barring any other constraints.
The second half.Are you saying that the cancelled 22s are going to be built first, or are you saying that the cancelled 22s will be priority once all the conversion rigamarole is completed (and after some non-cancelled orders are built)?
For those non-rollover 23 hybrid orders who've already gotten build dates in December & VINs, do you think that Ford will plug the rollover 22s into those slots, pushing the new 23s back? Or, will they put the rollovers into the next available slot? If it's the former, seems like they should've just left those slots open if they knew they were going to put the rollovers in there, anyway.Because once Ford moves those MY22s back up at the end of the month, they will be put at the front of the line in front of any other MY23 hybrids. Of course, pretty common knowledge. Do you think Ford is just going to shut down the plant while they are working on converting the cancelled 22s, or do you think they will keep the line moving building 23s?Build dates can be and have been moved quite a bit in the past.
So the cancelled 22s will not be first.The second half.
Ford has scheduled trucks for MY23. Once the conversion of the cancelled MY22s completes, they are put at the top of the list, ahead of any future MY23 hybrids for scheduling. That won't stop anything already scheduled from being built, just that your order will jump the line for future scheduling (barring constraints) once the conversion is complete.
Yea yeah I know ford is not known for handling this situation well at all, but it would be colossally stupid for them to start the 23s off on that bad foot. They currently have one small group of pissed off customers, no need for them to piss off the currently scheduled 23s. Fewer (even if more severe) pissed off customers.For those non-rollover 23 hybrid orders who've already gotten build dates in December & VINs, do you think that Ford will plug the rollover 22s into those slots, pushing the new 23s back? After reading the messages on these boards for a while, you'd think I'd know better than to get my hopes up when given a build date or to think that Ford would use logic & common sense.
Well the two options I want might cost me the Maverick. Hybrid and a tow hitch. Sucky news. Guess I just have to hope to get lucky.According to Tim this evening,
68% Hybrid orders compared to 35% capacity.
32% EB orders compared to 65% capacity.
Other than the hybrid, standalone tow hitch and splashguards seem to be the items over build capacity.
XLT Lux = 37% capacity but 35% orders.
Larat Lux = 25% capacity but 20% orders.
Tremor = 8% capacity but 2% orders
Appearance packages are all under capacity compared to orders.
CP360 = 60% capacity but 50% orders
CP360A = 25% capacity but 8% orders.
Moonroof = 38% capacity but 13% orders.
Hitch = 45% capacity but 65% orders... includes any packages that includes hitch.
Keep in mind those hitches are likely also on a lot of the hybrids that mathematically cannot be built. So, I don't know if I would remove the hitch. The hybrid would likely be the larger constraint than the hitch.
At least the '23 orders are going into the situation with a "heads up" as to the lengthy wait. Over a year ago my salesman told me 4 to 8 weeks.Yea yeah I know ford is not known for andling this situation well at all, but it would be colossally stupid for them to start the 23s off on that bad foot. Well. As long as it isn't confusing or unclear.Wow, only half of the 2023 hybrid orders are going to be built. The other half will get cancelled and rolled over to 2024.
