This is the correct answer. The high pressure fuel pump makes it sound like a diesel. This is unfortunately a cheap vehicle and there's virtually no sound deadening material used on any trim level. Thankfully it's not too expensive or too difficult to install yourself if it really bugs you.The valve noise you hear is actually the high pressure fuel pump.
Really? Time for a major tune up. Of course, I drive mine in Eco most of the time. Does noise levels change much with transmission mode????This is about as close as I can describe It's actually pretty accurate.
From my understanding the acoustic windshield is there more for the B&O sound system and probably to help mitigate wind noise. Since engine noise is coming through the firewall and not the windshield I doubt the acoustic glass is doing anything at all to help address the engine noise.Really? Time for a major tune up. I presume acoustic windshield matter little??????
In my lariat I have a hard time hearing engine except when at less than 5-8 mph. From my understanding the acoustic windshield is there more for the B&O sound system and probably to help mitigate wind noise. Also, the modes do much more than alter transmission shift points. They change the throttle mapping and I'm sure to some extent ignition timing and possibly on the ecoboost models the electronically actuated wastegate. I doubt the modes have any affect on noise.
I'd say the same is accurate for my XL.....In my lariat I have a hard time hearing engine except when at less than 5-8 mph.
They asked what the engine sounds like - open the hood and listen, it seriously sounds like paint shakers Not too noticable when driving but the ecoboost engines sound terrible when you're listening to them outside of the car.Really?
