I did not. I was planning to use the points for something else.

Got around to installing the Ford Tow Hitch on my truck.

I did not install a 4 pin connector yet. It's not hard, it's just tedious because of all the screws you are removing. I am attaching a PDF so that if anyone wants to use it as a baseline, or eventually develop one with 4 pin connector install, feel fee. ***This is for sharing purposes only, and I'm not a technician, so I don't take any responsibility for your DIY efforts.*** My personal note, if you are mechanically inclined, you can do this.

Just got in hitch, box had torn there were no installation instructions and 8 bolts in the box, do you by any chance still have the installation instructions. If so could you please email to me and let me know if anything else should have been in the box. email [email protected]

@Glenda , I do not have them, but these instruction I wrote should help you get the job done. I recall the instructions provided with the tow hitch were nothing special, and I think the one I provide is more helpful. Good luck.

And in the box was just the tow hitch, the bolts, and the mediocre instructions.

wouldn't be easier to just weld the plate to the existing cross member?

if you're going to trim up the bumper cover part that is removed for the hitch, I would recommend doing it and working it around the hitch while it's off the truck, might be easier?

Nowadays it might, as an early owner, there were not a lot of options. You would also still need to add the wiring harness for lights.

Thanks for the writeup, I'll need to do this too. I ordered my '22 truck with the Lariat Luxury package which included hitch but the dealer didn't transfer the stuff we wanted to the '23 Mav we bought.

And this thread is pretty old- a lot of the original comments are outdated because since the first few pages:
-Ford released a DIY receiver
-Curtis released a DIY receiver
-Curtis release Mav specific light wiring harness

Has anyone installed the aftermarket light wiring harness but used one of the 12 volt connections in the bed instead of running the positive wire directly to the battery?
