$39,995 is actually lower than most of the ones near me. The dealer I ordered my '23 from has called me twice with new '22 Mavericks asking if I want them at $10k over MSRP. I said no, but it didn't matter. They were both sold literally within hours of them arriving on the lot.
Chris, you said $10k over is for brand new in your area. This LM used XL already has 16,000 miles so $5k over MSRP would be reasonable. Usually XL AWD 4k MSRP is around $25k.

To be a fair price Tim, how about lowering your listing by $10k to $29,995 so someone does not get taken advantage of? That is the equivalent MSRP of a brand new loaded XLT.

1. A Mav used with 16,000+ miles should not be marked up $10-$15k over msrp. That is more than a lot of new ones where a buyer canceled.

2. An XL cannot be FX4. Black Onyx seats on the description is a giveaway that this is an XL.

3. We all know the real price here but a lot of people do not. If Tim wants his dealership to be perceived as fair and honest and not be like the others that are called "stealerships" on this forum, he would not let LM attempt to price gouge someone who does not know it's real msrp.

4. Just like your home, the value of a Maverick is not set by how much it is listed for but how much it sells for. If it had $40k in value it would have already sold. This is more than the MSRP of most fully loaded Lariats. There is not even cruise control on this truck.

Reputation is everything in the car business and this attempt at price gouging some unknowing sucker is a dishonest tactic in my opinion.
You wrote all of that without reading what I said?

1. no one cares what you THINK it should be worth. I THINK iPhones shouldn’t be $1200. But again, are you claiming ALL vehicles used prices don’t fluctuate with the market or what exactly? This thread frames this as “screwing customers over” when this is not even a new customer order lol.

2. Im aware. Again did you read my comment lol? I literally did not say it was an FX4? I said it was weird the sticker was on lol…

3. “honest dealership.” Again, what are you talking about? Are you aware that used car values have ALWAYS fluctuated with the market value or not? what is dishonest about pricing something at sticker?

4….. okay? So it won’t be sold then? What is it to you? What’s your point lol? Im waiting for you to explain to me how pricing a used vehicle that isn’t a customer order at what they want is “shady” or any different than all car shopping experiences at all dealers since the beginning of time.

This is about LM's reputation on the line. To be like all the other dealers that people hate is not what they should portray. Tim is active on this forum so he needs to explain this price. Unless they find some unknowing sucker, no one will buy this. So why put this price out there and cause a hit to their reputation on this forum? It does not make sense.

To be perceived as a fair dealer to all of us, how about adding $5k above MSRP? Instead they price gouged a used XL with 16k miles to more than the cost of a brand new loaded Lariat with adaptive cruise and B&O sound.
He doesn't need to explain anything, He doesn't own the Dealership.
If it's to high then it won't sell. It's not taking advantage of anyone, they can go buy something else at Carmax or Craiglist.

Tim doesn't need to explain shit. Suggesting they should not sell used vehicles at market price is asinine. Do you know how much they paid the previous owner for it?

This entire post is completely stupid. That is the price that these are going for, actually a little less. The msrp of a brand new loaded XLT is irrelevant.

This is the best deal in the market. If you disagree, show us a better deal for sale at this time.

Wasn't he upfront about marking up orders that weren't retail orders?

If they can get it good on them nobody is holding a gun to the buyers head, but remember is a two edge sword

Only two kinds of people buy marked up vehicles:

1) rich people who don’t care about money
2) impatient people

Still lots of both out there.
3) people needing a vehicle who care about money and their commuter ride dies and they need to get to work ASAP!

They are selling the new ones at MSRP, and in many cases shipping them long distances. Why does that mean they are somehow bound to underprice the used ones? Do you expect them to end up wholesaling used ones to other dealers who will them mark them up like this? A $40k price on a used Maverick leaves a very wide margin for negotiation. If you are the crack head who willingly pays such a price, you deserve to have your wallet lightened.
