Honest dealers will agree to sell you the truck you ordered at the price you agreed to without bogus markups. Honest dealers will sell used trucks at their fair market value. A used Maverick is worth more than a new one at the moment. So, a dealer can sell an XL for $39k and remain an honest dealer if all they are doing is literally slapping the price listed in the NADA on the window.

I don't see a problem here.

They have been marking them up for the longest including new ones that customers back out of. While I agree the markup is a lot and no way in hell I'd pay it, Tim has been up-front and mentioned on his stream they mark them up to market value. If someone wants to pay it, so be it. They have sold A LOT of them because almost every day a salesman from there posts one for sale on Facebook with a $7,500 ADM and its gone in hours.

Most dealer revenue comes from used vehicle markup. Price is clearly advertised and if one doesn't like the price, they can haggle or move along. However, had this been a new truck that you ordered and they slap the markup on, there's a problem. This is NOT happening in this case. It's called capitalism. The market and demand will determine whether that price is reasonable or not. For some, it's reasonable, and they will be the people who pay these prices. Does that price some of you out of the market? Sure.

Ummmmm?

1. This is used…

2. it’s very custom. For example it has leather seats, it for some reason has FX4 even though the sticker doesn’t say so. The seats looks great.

3 again, it’s used…. what’s this about them not being honest dealers for charging market value on a used vehicle lol? You’re confusing dealers marking up customers own orders with capitalism…

4. do you think the maverick is the only used vehicle that’s value flcucuate based on market, mileage, options, color etc? Again, it’s used… cars have been sold like this forever.
1. A Mav used with 16,000+ miles should not be marked up $10-$15k over msrp. That is more than a lot of new ones where a buyer canceled.

2. An XL cannot be FX4. Black Onyx seats on the description is a giveaway that this is an XL.

3. We all know the real price here but a lot of people do not. If Tim wants his dealership to be perceived as fair and honest and not be like the others that are called "stealerships" on this forum, he would not let LM attempt to price gouge someone who does not know it's real msrp.

4. Just like your home, the value of a Maverick is not set by how much it is listed for but how much it sells for. If it had $40k in value it would have already sold. This is more than the MSRP of most fully loaded Lariats. There is not even cruise control on this truck.

Reputation is everything in the car business and this attempt at price gouging some unknowing sucker is a dishonest tactic in my opinion.

Besides putting out BS clickbait videos they markup the Mavs AF.

Total BS dealer.
Yes Gerardo, for some reason, people are afraid to say anything negative about LM. Tim is a car salesman who has to do whatever it takes to get big commissions and bonuses - like grabbing orders from all over the country. But guess what is going to happen when they only get allocations for 75% of the 800 Maverick 2023 orders they submitted. Then Tim will have a mutiny on his hands from people who realize they should have ordered from their local dealer. That will make a great clickbait video!

It's a market economy. There's an @$$ for every seat, as they used to say.

The price they're selling it for also isn't telling the whole story. There's a good chance they paid more than than the new/sticker price for it from whoever they bought it from. Did they get ripped off by the seller? As long as they anticipate that market conditions are going to enable them to sell it for a reasonable amount of profit beyond what they paid for it than it's in their interest to buy it and sell for some profit. As aggravating as it can be to see jacked up prices like this, it's also just how used car sales work.

Wow! I thought Tim portrays his dealer as being fair and honest. Looks like they are the same as the rest of the stealerships.
Agreed, I don't really see the need for Dealerships at this point. Can't test drive, can't negotiate what's the point (Service is ALWAYS overpriced at dealers), they are working themselves out of a job..

$39,995 is actually lower than most of the ones near me. The dealer I ordered my '23 from has called me twice with new '22 Mavericks asking if I want them at $10k over MSRP. I said no, but it didn't matter. They were both sold literally within hours of them arriving on the lot.

Show me a dealer selling Mavs at msrp.
This is about LM's reputation on the line. To be like all the other dealers that people hate is not what they should portray. Tim is active on this forum so he needs to explain this price. Unless they find some unknowing sucker, no one will buy this. So why put this price out there and cause a hit to their reputation on this forum? It does not make sense.

To be perceived as a fair dealer to all of us, how about adding $5k above MSRP? Instead they price gouged a used XL with 16k miles to more than the cost of a brand new loaded Lariat with adaptive cruise and B&O sound.

Only two kinds of people buy marked up vehicles:

1) rich people who don’t care about money
2) impatient people

Still lots of both out there.
and people who REALLY need a car right now
