Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can assist with your noise concerns on my end.on my hybrid xlt lux, i have all kind of rattle noises.
i asked my friend to drive the vehicle while i try to listen to every rattle.
rattle 1 , plastic rubbin behind the dash.. passenger side.. if you push and hold near the vent, the squeaky noise will stop.. not completely but a lot.
however, that squeaky can also happen on the driver side but not often.
there is another squeaky tic sound coming from somewhere around the windshield frame.. near the top right corner or close to the mirror. Pressing the windshield does not stop the squeaky tic.. so there is something touching the glass..
the worst rattle sound im getting (and has nothing to do with the dash) is when i press the gas pedal to about 1/10 (like barely enough to move the vehicle). when it run on combustion (ice) i can hear some metallic rattle.. basically it just happens when the motor engine runs..
can't find it.. it seems to be coming from somwhere behind the firewall, undeneath or behind the engine block.. close to the in line fuel tiny pipes
i don't want to crawl undeneath as i hate doin that, beside the plastic skid plate is a pain to remove from underneath .. you to have to put the vehicle on a lift.. which i don't have. I checked every parts from the hood, nothing was moving.
but i can't reach behind the catalytic from the top..
the metallic rattle itself stops when the hybrid ev mode kicks in. Or when you don't press the gas pedal anymore.. or when you accelerate fast. It mostly happen when i press the pedal 1/10. (about 5-20 mph).
i went to the dealer, they heard it too.. but they don't know what it is. They asked me to leave the vehicle for few days , which i can not..because i need it.
the good thing is, mine did not lose any value since i got it., i have 8000 miles and the dealer is offering me the same price i paid.. i can probably order a 2024 and not worry about the price.. Beside mine is already fully paid..
So, your brand new Lariat rattles? Is it a constant thing every time you drive it? This would drive me nuts, especially on a brand new upper trim level vehicle. These stories about fit/finish issues make me a little leary to say the least.@Error do not sell your truck for a breakeven amount back to your dealer. If you're going to sell, shop it around.. you'll almost certainly make a profit.
My XL had way more rattles than my Lariat does, but this one is by no means rattle free.
This is pretty consistent with cheaper Ford products although my previous escape was rattle free compared to the maverick. The difference might be that the escape was made in the USASo, your brand new Lariat rattles? Is it a constant thing every time you drive it? Yes it rattles. Too many hard plastics and questionable build quality to expect any different. I knew this going in.So, your brand new Lariat rattles? Is it a constant thing every time you drive it?
