You mention you've been trying to get a Mav since the beginning. Did you ever put an order in last year or this year?
Tried to! I went to probably 5 dealers around me. When the orders were opened up recently, I was dealing with a daughter sick with covid. I heard the order banks had filled up in just 4 days. That's why I was so excited when this dealer called me a few days ago

I might be picking up a hybrid mav that someone had ordered, but got tired of waiting on. The truck should be ready in December. I should know more tomorrow some time. The dealer said he'd be calling me back tomorrow with more info.
I do rideshare full time, and my current car's getting a bit up there in miles and its like a new issue or sound pops up every week.
I'm hoping to be driving a hybrid maverick xlt by the end of the year. I think it's an awesome truck, and i'm stoked to potentially take my MTB on the road with me while I drive. I can also haul motorcycles in the bed, which will be great. I have a hitch on my fusion, and have hauled many bikes with it, but being able to throw a bike in the bed is a lot more comforting.
This waiting sucks. I've been trying to get a mav since the beginning.
I drive professionally for a limo/bus company and have driven uber and lyft as well. I make far more driving someone else's vehicles than I ever made doing rideshare and my personal car doesn't get beat up and devalued. If you enjoy driving, apply at a car service. Everyone is hiring and most places offer flexible hours. And if you want to make real good money, get a commercial license to drive bigger vehicles. Don't trash your car putting money in someone else's pocket.

I do Amazon flex delivering groceries and packages. I love the great mileage and specifically ordered the keyless ignition so I wouldn't have to fumble around with my keys.

Would Uber allow a pickup truck? I’m not a driver but Ive used Uber services for many years for groceries and going to work. I know that offer a van service but never seen a truck option.
Yes, they allow 4 door pickups

I am a full time Uber driver. Currently my Uber car is a 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV. I did just add my Maverick to both Uber and Lyft, but it'll rarely get used for ride share, if ever. So yes, they allow it. The back seat of the Maverick is definitely smaller than the Bolt EUV, but it'll work. The only issue you have in using a pickup for ride share is putting people's luggage, groceries etc in the bed. I'd suggest a tonneau cover, and putting a board in one of the bed slots to keep stuff towards the tailgate, and maybe a carpet back there.

Dude! I thought about hopping on that bolt EUV deal, but ultimately did not. Did you take advantage of that deal Uber was doing with Chevy? What do you think of it? I had big concerns about range, since I start and end everyday with a 45-minute drive to get there.

Also, I did not take the deal on the Maverick. The guy who ordered the truck (or the salesman) had thrown on $5000 in upgrades. The dealer had thrown another $5k for dealer markup. I walked so fast.

There must be someone in my area who drives a Maverick for Uber/Lyft because I almost hit a guy who unexpectedly stepped right in front of me, waving me down, as I was going through a strip mall parking lot. Pretty sure he thought I was his ride.

😂😂😂 someone did that to me last night out in Houston. They kept walking into the road towards me. I gave them a honk and some miscellaneous yelling and that corrected the problem

Yes Uber allows crew cabs. I rode in a F150 crew.

Yes I got the $2000 off Uber deal on the Bolt. Also my state offered another $2250, and I got $1000 for having the GM credit card. So an extra $5250 off. I have no problem with the range, but I turn Uber on right in my driveway. Also I come home for lunch every day, so a couple times after a busy morning I plugged the car in before my afternoon driving. The majority of my driving stays within a 20 mile radius. I never accept long trips.

As for the Maverick, trying to buy one off the lot is financial suicide. The dealers are marking them up. The only way to get a deal is to order one and wait. I waited 13 months, but paid sticker price and got a discounted finance rate.

The backseat of the Maverick is better than most small sedans you see on Uber and Lyft.

I tried to sign up with Uber, but when they asked for my vehicle, the drop down menu did not list the Maverick, so I selected another car.

Then when I entered my insurance, they denied me due to the mismatch of the vehicles.

How long ago was that?

I just added my Maverick to both Uber and Lyft this weekend. Maybe they didn't have the Maverick in the system yet. I had a big problem adding my Chevy Bolt EUV to Uber. It took me a week to get it approved. Unfortunately these "transportation companies" don't know anything about cars lol.
