I've seen it most times when I first start up my car, for the last week or so. It disappears quickly, so I was only able to click the Close button yesterday for the first time and haven't seen it since.
My horses are retired so I'm not hauling them anymore. I sold my 2006 Chevy 2500HD to friends for use at their cabin when I bought my Mav.
I can still haul hay bales and feed for the horses, or construction materials for my home DIY projects, which all I need a truck for now.
30mpg vs 8mpg is...
My Mav came with the Pirelli AT tires (Ecoboost AWD/4k tow/FX4). They were ok, but I didn't like how noisy/rough they were. Most of my driving is on pavement or gravel roads. Sometimes on firm dirt/grass around the horse farm. So AT tires aren't a necessity for me.
I ended up with a nail in...
There must be someone in my area who drives a Maverick for Uber/Lyft because I almost hit a guy who unexpectedly stepped right in front of me, waving me down, as I was going through a strip mall parking lot. Pretty sure he thought I was his ride.
Hauled some solid wood cabinets for my garage (scored them at the local Habitat for Humanity Restore for a song).
(The forward strap was just to keep the cardboard that we used to protect the cab window as we loaded, that ended up firmly wedged and unremovable, from flapping against the cab on...
I use horse wash stall mats in mine and they work great. The open design makes them lighter and easier to move/wash. Things don't slide around on the grippy rubber.
Two of the 3x3 mats cover the bed between wheel wells and onto the open tailgate...
My main phone will never be connected to any car for the reasons in this article. I am using an old phone and wifi to do stuff like navigation and Spotify, but it was reset and all contacts/photos/etc cleared before I connected it to the car.
It works well, I keep my phone secure and don't...
The gas door is easy to bump open and at the same height as my boobs. So each time I lean over the side rail to secure a load or pull something from the bed, I inadvertently open the gas door.
I didn't realize this was happening at first and kept wondering why my gas door was open!
😂👙
I wish I could find a simple, machine-washable, cotton duck/denim cover for my driver seat. I am always dusty and hay covered after time at the horse farm and would like to protect the seat from that. I just couldn't find anything on Amazon that was decently made.
I may just make one myself...
I had the same issue with it preferring a too-high gear resulting in low RPM that would choke sometimes. This was in the 35-50 mph range. I took it to my dealer for a tune up (and the brake controller recall) and it's been great since then.
The dealer did not charge me for the tune up.
This. I think most people who get the Mav with EB want/need the AWD and/or 4k tow. That was my decision process. And those cost extra. Hybrid and FWD EB are close in price.
Because if the trailer weighs more than the vehicle it compromises handling in extreme circumstances. Maverick weighs around 3750.
In my early horse owning days I hauled a small two horse trailer with a Dodge Dakota and there were a couple times I experienced the trailer jerking the truck...
My cracked windshield was replaced under warranty. It took about 3 weeks for the OEM replacement to arrive.
My post about it
