It makes since that Ford is mostly previewing the Ecoboost for the first builds. It appears many Hybrids were built this last month. Long McArthur has a bunch arriving and on the lot. Facebook members are posting Hybrids built and being shipped. September had 10,000 Mavericks built, but unknown on the engine type. Ford likely depleted the Hybrid engines, batteries and such.

But even when Hybrids are scheduled, likely only half will ever get built for MY 2023 if the high number of Hybrid orders placed is correct.

If 65% of placed orders were for Hybrids, that’s 56,000 Hybrid orders from 86,000 total.

Considering Ford said the Hybrid is constrained to 35%… that means 30,000 can be built as Hybrids.

What am I missing? And I ordered a Lariat Hybrid.

Thanks for the information. I ordered a Lariat Hybrid. Carbonized Gray with the Lux pkg co-pilot. So Im sure I have a wait ahead of me.

I guess we have to hope a lot of people placed splash guards on their orders so they get skipped for scheduling? ;)

Have patience. While I got the 2023 Ford order confirmation email, because of my build and these restrictions, seems like I’ll get mine in 2025: Alto Blue Hybrid Lariat, Lux, Black Wheels, Sunroof, Rollup Tonneau, Bed Connectors, Spray-in Bedliner, Splash Guards, Remote Start, both 360’s, Front Protector Film, Floor liners w/carpeted mats and Front License Plate Holder.

Even IF ‘23 scheduling starts Oct 20, when is the first week to be scheduled?? At the rate the 22 orders WITH VINS are being pushed back into November, expect ‘23 production to not begin until at least December. My week has been pushed 8 times since August. Good luck to all. May have better luck playing the lottery.

My prediction is MY23 starts first week of December.

FWIW, CAFE standards for MY24 increase by about 10%. Ford may want to build more EB this model year because the hybrid/ICE ratio will have to change next year to meet those standards. From their perspective, it would be easier to carry over leftover hybrid parts to next year than any ICE parts. In theory.

How long was the Hermasillo factory shut down for during December in 2021? I am assuming due to the holidays and such that December is a lower output production month. MY2023 being a short year will also exacerbate the shortage of Mavericks produced, assuming Ford can keep to a generous average of 8000 manufactured units per month.

I missed that.... I also had a brain fart... didn't even pay attention to 2022 model photo..(which is why none are in stock).... thought I was building a 2023 (again, just didn't pay attention that the photo was not the nexgen CRV). I hadn't realized the Hybrid AWD made it into the 2022 model lineup as part of the last gen model (must have been a good way to introduce it and work out bugs)! Wow.
Did my research and AWD Hybrid was removed from the EX lineup.... So, you have to buy into a higher end model to get it, hence the substantial increase... I guess if you could find a 2022 CRV EX Hybrid AWD leftover, that would be the way to go.

Will be interesting to see what path forward takes with Maverick Hybrids for MY2024.... Just overwhelmingly popular! Imagine having to buy into a Lariat to get AWD Hybrid....
You aren't going to find any hybrid Japanese cars without paying huge adm or waiting 2 years literally for RAV4 prime and then paying $45k min. Honda production is down huge like 40% due to parts shortages. Toyota facing the same issues. At one point they were down to 36 hours worth of inventory from 60 days nationwide. So comparing the Maverick to any Japanese hybrid is worthless. I sold my CRV to get into a Maverick. I was disappointed with my 2017 EX-L. The shifter knob broke within weeks after getting it new. The screen started to go out intermittently the last few months we owned it. The seats were terrible for long drives. My accountant's 2018 CRV leaked oil that took 3 trips to the dealer to fix.

Most of the people here waiting might. I still hate Toyota, so I will wave at you all while you drive by in your new Toyota trucks. Lol!
And the people here waiting should hope Toyota announces their competitor tomorrow to curb some of the Maverick demand. It would mean Ford people get theirs earlier, and the RAV4/CRV converts get something they like more. Easy win/win.

Why are people reacting to this now? We've known for a while that they can't build all the hybrids that people want. Saying that the Hybrids are a constraint means they can only schedule as many of them as the parts supply allows. We knew this when they said that only 30-40% could be made that way, and it's been like this since forever (well, it was zero percent for a while).
Sadly, your post and some others like it are 100% correct. What is "sad" about it is that we are talking about the base, standard model of the Maverick. Ford made headlines and history with the hybrid being the standard, not a extra cost add on.

So essentially the standard model is constrained. The only...makes it more palatable.... tweak for 2023 is at least the 2.0 ecoboost is now a zero cost option.

But it is kinda an ugly look that Ford can't build what was supposed be the standard truck. Obviously they wanted to make headlines with the hybrid and make trucks with the ecoboost.

I love my hybrid, BTW.

I expect any announcement to be for a 2024 or if they emulate Tesla 2026

they should have just limited orders for hybrids at the cap of 35 percent of anticipated orders - maybe 28K. It would have been an easy piece of code - when hybrid orders were at 35K don't allow any additionals to be input. I don't know what the logic is behind letting substantially more than that go through. If somewhere down the line next year they find they have additional resources for hybs then they can open up the bank for a short while until the new max is exceeded.

Just the final week of December in 2021 was shut down.
