Any mav owners drive with it for uber?

I might be picking up a hybrid mav that someone had ordered, but got tired of waiting on. The truck should be ready in December. I should know more tomorrow some time. The dealer said he'd be calling me back tomorrow with more info.
I do rideshare full time, and my current car's getting a bit up there in miles and its like a new issue or sound pops up every week.
I'm hoping to be driving a hybrid maverick xlt by the end of the year. I think it's an awesome truck, and i'm stoked to potentially take my MTB on the road with me while I drive. I can also haul motorcycles in the bed, which will be great. I have a hitch on my fusion, and have hauled many bikes with it, but being able to throw a bike in the bed is a lot more comforting.
This waiting sucks. I've been trying to get a mav since the beginning.

Not an Uber driver , but I have often thought the Maverick would be a good choice. Especially the hybrid (any trim) with a tonneau cover.

Yeah. I'm hoping so, at least. I drive in a college town and big games or concerts should be good money. There's an annual 2 day festival just outside of town. No cell service, so I could drive out there, load up the truck, and the bed and then drive back into town and have these kids pay me $15 per person for the ride back.
I did that last year, and it was pretty good. Filling the truck bed up with kids at $15 each sounds pretty lucrative
(Btw 15 each is cheap!)

While I don't drive for Uber nor Lyft, as I don't want to rack up miles on my hybrid Maverick, but you'll get excellent gas mileage with it! It is a comfortable truck to carry passengers in the back seat.

I don't know what either ride share service pays, but I imagine it might be worth it.

Have you sat in the back seat of a Maverick?
My grandson is 6’ tall and he says it’s comfortable back there. My wife is 5’ 2” and said the same thing.
I’ve had a hybrid Maverick since 27 January.

Would Uber allow a pickup truck? I’m not a driver but Ive used Uber services for many years for groceries and going to work. I know that offer a van service but never seen a truck option.

I don’t think the backseat will be the “comfiest” for your riders.

Far better than a Prius back seats. I have both. Not sure about carrying bikes in the back however search here for how people have done that. Since you already tow a bike thing you could still do that and have space in the bed for bags and gear.

It would be perfect for Uber eats and grocery delivery. The bed is amazingly easy to reach in with tailgate up. Should be able to stack two layers of those food crates high.

those are pretty much just service tiers. I’ve used Ubers all over the country quite a bit with my previous jobs. I’ve been picked up in trucks a few times…most memorable being a small Nissan ext cab (for 2 of us so someone had to fit in the back seat), and once a big long GM 3/4 ton crew cab Long bed diesel(how on earth is that worthwhile money wise even as a minor side gig!).. Pretty sure you have to have the right vehicle for the higher service tiers, but can drive pretty much whatever you want (within any yr/condition type requirement) with the regular service.

I'm sure it would be great, but I would be reluctant to drive any new vehicle for ride-sharing. Although, I guess a new XL maverick is worth less than many used cars.

Actually, I think you would be better to flip your maverick and then take your profit and buy an inexpensive used car for ride-sharing.

picked it up in august and have 6,200 km on it now

gas mileage is perfect for in town delivery - especially idling(i always leave car on at door as most orders are prepaid and take less than a minute to drop off) and stop and go traffic

You mention you've been trying to get a Mav since the beginning. Did you ever put an order in last year or this year?

Besides ride share you can also offer delivery for large items like appliances for shorter distance deliveries. Whatever big box stores charge to deliver an item which for example by me home depot charges $89. Charge a flat rate for labor. For example $20 for you to drive either the customer to and from the store plus loading and unloading. If you can do that in under an hour you make more than $20 an hour if over then less. It will average out as you get more proficient. The break even cost for deliveries assuming a 15 gallon tank @ $4 per gallon of gas averaging 40 mph for a hybrid is $60 for gas and a 600 miles per tank. So $80 total to break even. You charge markup based upon delivery distance you should have no issues making money while under cutting that type of a delivery charge for items that only freight carriers can ship on local deliveries.

Surprisingly yes. I've seen big diesels with Uber signs in the windshield. Surely the maverick can do it
