I think the issue is Ford is going from "not too many people are going to buy this thing" to "holy Sh*t! people are buying this thing!" and they just didn't have the resources lined up to build more. They are working to remedy that but model year capacity is planned a year in advance to ensure the parts are there.
IMO, the fallacy in your logic is Ford most likely DID have resources lined up (even multiple approved vendors for many components) but the suppliers are not meeting their promises on delivery times. Early on Ford had talked about planning for ~110k Mavericks in year 1. Imagine what our discussions would be if the thing was a turkey and they only sold 50% of what they planned for? People keep dismissing the effect of most of the worlds' economy shutting down for a year because of COVID and many businesses closed and supply chain for things like semiconductors is still not nearly back to pre-shutdown levels.

I said it before and I will say it again- there is not a shred of credible evidence Toyota is planning on building a compact truck any time soon- hybrid or otherwise!
We are all dreamers on this site........I am dreaming of having a Maverick inside of a 24M wait :)

Did you know ford was going to build the maverick with hybrid standard before they announced it?

I saw an earlier post on this thread about the Maverick hybrid not moving the CAFE needle. That's not the point - it's an overly simplistic reading of state and federal regulations. The ZEV states have far more complex rules that include a mandatory percentage of ZEV vehicles by production year. So if you don't want to pay Tesla hundreds of millions for credits, you'd better meet the thresholds. And I believe hybrids move the needle. And the ZEV states account for a solid percentage of sales.

I would agree except, on a farm like me, I need skid plates on some of the trails between fields. Unless the AWD hybrid came in an FX4 or Tremor package it is useless to me. Also, they don't offer any of those packages on any model, that I am aware of with a AWD hybrid variant.

Toyota is doing the Toyota thing. Watch from the sidelines to see what shakes out and then come in to the market with a better product.

Well if history repeat’s itself

Camry
Prius
Tacoma
Tundra……..

Not sure we can say that holds when they couldn't even attach wheels to their new BZ4X EV.

Well there is that:)

Hovever I will take Toyota’s track record over any other brand.

Over the weekend I rented a new Ford Explorer. Fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Very cheaply made and would be surprised if it lasts 100K miles.

Or they could offer hybrid customers the choice to switch to an EB. I would take that rather than no truck at all.
Having an order in for an EB myself, I would hope that if Ford allowed customers to change their order from hybrid to EB, that they would lose their place in line, and order time stamp modified to reflect. Why, when I ordered what I wanted from the get-go, should I have to fall behind someone that changed their order weeks after the banks had closed, just so they could get one?

This has probably been asked a million times already but I can’t find anything. Is there anyone we need to do after the dealer submitted our order and we received the order confirmation from Ford? I logged in to my ford account and clicked reservations, it said I had none, should I be concerned?

You should have gotten an email from ford. Nothing will show in reservations on the ford site until VIN is issued.
You can chat with ford rep on the ford site and they will confirm your order as hopefully unscheduled-clean which means you are all set
