I have a VIN but no build date. Normally once you get a VIN the build date is two weeks away. XLT/2.0T/AWD/LUX/TOW/FX4 with sliding rear window. As I have the VIN I can't change a thing.

This is really frustrating.
what is your VIN, I can tell you a build week?

Called my dealer to remove soft tonneau and floor liners from my order to simplify it for current and possible future constraints. That left Velocity Blue XLT Hybrid, luxury package and Co-Pilot 360. Salesperson just called back and my Maverick is priority code 2 and should be scheduled soon for production. He said it wouldn’t be code 2 if they didn’t have the parts... so some must be trickling in. I am more than a little excited!
Doubtful. Mine has been priority 2 since 7/12, not scheduled.

LOL, thanks for the GIF. That is exactly what happened to your post. I am glad you realize it and took what is "not that serious" so well. But at least you have an idea of the reality and a different perspective.

Thanks again for the toon!!!

Me too. 02 since July 12th. Not scheduled. Plus, can't make changes once it is at 02 and I have a tonneau cover I would remove to help move things along...

What's the use of custom ordering a vehicle if you have to order it the way THEY want it?
Im guessing my maverick with the spray in bed liner and cover will be my Christmas present to me. Not changing any options.
Not me. I’m stubborn lol
I'm with you. I'm not changing the truck I'm going to have for hopefully 15-20 years just so I can get it a few weeks or months earlier.

I want what I want. And waiting a bit for something I'll be using for a decade or two is fine by me.

I do agree with that. A really in the know dealer and good dealer will tell you what is gonna hold it up or not. Mine did not, didnt know of any constraints of any kind even with rapid red, nothing. I found out all the info here. I bet they wont say it as well since they want that extra dough made on the options. No matter how small it may be. But I agree with you on a really good dealer will keep you in the know. Communication with mine has been like pulling teeth but i already have a confirmed order and the dealer is in town so im gonna have to just stick it out.

Living in Austin I have many dealers. I am so luck Covert Ford is just about 3 miles away.

Ordered my Hybrid with confirmation sent from Ford on 6-29. Removed the spray-in bedliner yesterday from factory options in hopes of getting a build date sooner rather than later. Especially before I spend more on maintaining my 2005 Prius than it is worth.

There was no deposit required but I put down $500 to the dealer. He said when it comes in, if I don't want it, they will give me a full deposit refund... Of course, they want to mark it up and sell it off the lot! So my truck counts against their allotment but they know they can sell it off the lot. So most would keep the order in the system. The dealer can prioritize his allotment orders.

The one I am waiting for people to figure out is:
If there is an allotment to each dealer, a dealer can only place so many orders a month. They can sell all they want but until allotment is over, they can only place so many orders into production. So, if dealers are offering discounts, they are likely stacking orders that cannot be entered into production until October, November, December, etc. because they are over their monthly allotments. So you can get discounts now but they will probably cause long lead times on those orders. If 50 people buy from a single dealer (discounted or not) it may take months before the last 25 people get their trucks ordered into production.
I was wondering that myself. A salesman from Long Macarthur Ford told me that 450 Mavericks had been ordered through their dealership. I'm in no hurry to get mine because I can use my girlfriend's car and work from home, but I don't really believe their estimate of December or January delivery.

I don't know if it works like that. Mine has been Priority Code 02 for at least a couple of weeks, but it has the spray-in liner that supposedly is a constraint.

I hope you are right and that the constraint doesn't apply to me because my code already changed to 02, but I would be surprised if that's true. And happy, by the way.

Called Ford today. She found my order, said I could see an production date in a couple of weeks. No promises. But it was interesting that she stated that. Hope she’s right.

I'm with you on this. I'm retired and golf at least twice a week. Without a lockable tonneau cover I would have no place to put my golf clubs.;). Besides, if I removed that (no guarantee that it would move me up) then one of my other items might delay it. I also have the spray in Bed liner. It's also one of the reasons I went with the XLT so I would be able to lock and unlock the truck bed with my key fob instead of using a key.
