Looks like I'll be waiting a while with my XLT luxury package
I‘m not counting on my maverick XLT LUX until end of year/first of new year so I won’t be disappointed! If it is built before end of December, I will be most happy! If it goes into early 2022, then so be it….I have no control.
This is how I have to mentally prepare so my stress level doesn’t spike. 🙁😬

If it does I’ll have at least $5,000 down lol

Go with the misinformed, you'll have less aggravation that way. :)
I would have never believed the automatic ‘toss-out’ of “8-10 weeks”. The only honest car salesperson I recognize lately is Tim Bartz of Long McArthur Ford in Salina, KS. He never exaggerates time lines.

due to your very early order I would think your Mav should be scheduled for build ANYDAY——update us when you are notified.

Be nice if they shipped any delayed dealer install later after you get your truck....and the dealer just calls you to make appointment to install the delayed items when they show up

Yep. That's the way to go about these things. No need to add unnecessary anxiety and stress to something that is out of ours and Ford's control.

I think most of us need to take a step back and takes things into perspective. We're sitting in our comfy air conditioned homes complaining about not getting a brand new vehicle in the time it takes Amazon to send us our groceries. Meanwhile, there are people without water, food, electricity in Louisiana, struggling to make rent, trying to escape an authoritarian regime, and etc...

Just food for thought.

An occasional reality check is needed and your statement is spot on! (y)

Thanks for these tips! I talked to my dealer this morning and they will remove the soft tonneau cover to see if that helps with scheduling. (My order confirmation was a 2.0EB Lariat AWD on July 16.)

you are spot on! That’s the way I think also ……and it brings me out of my lofty dreams of everything going my way to the actual reality of what is REALLY important going on around me……such as the things you mentioned.

Starting to think I might change from the First Edition to the "regular" Lariat Lux and ditch the tonneau cover (can't get the spray in bed liner out of the Lux) to at least give myself a shot at a November or December build date....

Called my dealer to remove soft tonneau and floor liners from my order to simplify it for current and possible future constraints. That left Velocity Blue XLT Hybrid, luxury package and Co-Pilot 360. Salesperson just called back and my Maverick is priority code 2 and should be scheduled soon for production. He said it wouldn’t be code 2 if they didn’t have the parts... so some must be trickling in. I am more than a little excited!

How can you have a better relationship with a dealer if this is your first new car and we can't go through anyone else but a dealer? Dealers should be more invested in the relationship so that they can make a sale. As well, dealers should especially make greater efforts with new customers so they can get repeat business.
That is why Tesla(Elon Musk) wants to get rid of the dealer model....and who is fighting him tooth and nail...DEALERS!!!

Some dealers are better than others you have to find the right one. Some are there to be monopoly kings while others are heavily service oriented. Then there are the salespeople/order-takers that the dealership hires. Your first line of defense is to go to the General Sales Manager to see how deep the problem is within the dealership you are dealing with, next the general manager and then the owner/s.

I am fortunate to deal with Covert Ford here in Austin. They are stellar!! It is a family owned business which was started back in 1909. Their values have been passed down from generation to generation.
