Note that dealers can continue to order dealer stock after retail order banks have closed. Probably cutting off early so they can get some stock to dealer lots.

It was not made clear in prior Ford Corporate communications if COVP/ROVP was going to be required at all. @93nighthawk confirmed in a later post on this thread that this communication talks about ROVP and COVP separately (the two screenshots that are separate images above are from one communication, not two). I have no idea why Ford would do that..... But back to the main message.

If you have a dealer who ordered a Maverick for you and said "Ford isn't asking for ROVP this year"......tell them...

No, only ROVP is required. COVP is optional. I gave my dealer a copy of my license before my order was sent. I'm assuming that is to cover both.

Not dropped, but will not be considered for scheduling. That is my interpretation of the most recent memo from Ford. Someone more knowledgeable can confirm though.

I have seen the terms used interchangably by Ford...... I believe I have seen a dealer explain that sometimes it depends on model vehicle which acronym they use. But I am NOT the expert. So just take what I say as somewhat partially knowledgeable. But not 100% for sure.

COVP = Proving the person is real.

I'm not entirely sure how you have one without the other, but that is what I have been able to gather through my weekend of research.

The fact Ford used both in the one email in conflicting statements doesn't help.

I believe they are one in the same.

C stands for Customer
R stands for Retail

Both are NOT stock ordering. Both are for a specific customer.
