anyone on a dealership "pre-order" waiting list with more than 16 on it already isn't getting their order submitted on the 1st day. Add 1 more day back for each multiple of 16 on the dealer pre-order list. IMO Flippers will be a small, mostly neglible % of all orders placed and certainly not all of them will be getting in on 1st day.
I do not think the % of flippers will be small. My bet is many who ordered a 2022 will also order a 2023 (or 2 or 3) with the idea that they can wait 12+ months again and when the new truck(s) arrives, sell all but one. If just 1/4 of 2022 order holders do this that can equal thousands of Mavericks that will end up at Carvana and Carmax. Add to this all the new people who were locked out wanting to order 2 or 3. 50K+ Mavericks can be in control of flippers.

Not stirring anything up, just doing a little math. If millions want one but only 100k can order a Mav, isn't it possible the capacity can be gone day 1? This does not even include the flippers who will order at 3 different dealers. They alone can grab all the 2023 capacity.
Then it sounds like Ford needs to limit a Maverick order of 1 per person. I can't think of any logical reason why anybody other than business owners would need more than one Maverick. Flipping should be just as discouraged as overcharging msrp. It's a selfish strategy to make money off of taking advantage of others

Ford isn't going to say you can buy only one. Flipping is nothing new, every mfg has that problem if they have a hot selling vehicle. It's up to the consumer to not pay the inflated price ad that will not happen if the consumer wants it now and is willing to pay.
Reminds me of 1973 when I wanted a new 240Z and the dealer was asking over MSRP so I did not buy that car. Maybe I should've. 😭

Not everyone who buys more than one is doing it for the purpose of flipping. There is a limit to how many you can buy, though. Your personal finances. Even if you weren't going to keep it for long, there is no harm in buying it - if you can afford it - and seeing how it is to live with for a month or two. I've done that more than once while waiting on the Maverick. I drove a 2021 Kia Forte GT for 3 months, a 2021 Volvo XC40 for 5 months, a 2021 Kia Seltos for 1 month, and a 2022 Maverick XL for 1 month. All, aside from the Volvo which was a subscription car, were sold for a profit.

A manufacturer limiting the number you could buy would be bad business practice.

I ordered three from three different dealers. I didn't do that to flip, I did it to play the allocation lottery because placing just one order didn't seem like a smart move with all the delays, constraints, limited allocations at small dealers, etc.

I ended up with two of the three scheduled, the third will be going to 2023 unless something completely unexpected occurs. Right now my plan is to buy the first produced as planned, then sell it or trade it on the second (which has CP360 and the luxury package, both of which I want and which order #1 doesn't have). Order #3 will probably be a 2023 so I will reorder that as either a hybrid or Tremor and trade #2 on it when it comes in.

I’m not taking any chances. My order is going in the same day the order bank opens!
maybe. depends on how many pre-orders in front of you at your dealer. I figure the max any 1 dealer can enter per day is 16.

This is exactly why I said earlier the 2023s can sell out in one day. Landric ordered 3 so he is another flipper, unless he want to drive all 3 for some reason. If just 40,000 people out of the millions that now know about the Maverick do this - goodbye 2023 capacity.

I think I have seen a few husband and wife purchases. Also, some kids get a new vehicle for high school or college graduation. For many people a $20,000 gift is not extravagant. I never got a new car for graduation. My selfish parents were probably wasting money on stupid things like food, water, heat, electricity, and the mortgage.

Are you 100 percent positive the salesman entered your order in correctly? COVP/ROVP complete ?
I forgot, I did receive the we got your order email from Ford on Oct 26, 2021. Nothing else from Ford. I have received texts from salesman regularly on my other order. On this order she has repetedly reported nothing has happened. For whole month of August she said they had 10 allocations and I was next up on dealers list. Last Thursday 9/02/22 at 4:01 pm she texted that it now shows a vin and ETA at dealership of 11/10/22 week. She was slammed so I told her if I didn't get vin by 9/9/22 from Ford I would text her for it. With ETA date I am assuming that the plant has scheduled the actual build date. It does look like I will get it this year.

I'm purchasing the Maverick hybrid to flat tow behind our motorhome. The wait on that motorhome custom order is 18-24 months. I'm hoping the Maverick arrives at around the same time. Put a refundable deposit down on a Lariat with premium package and sunroof. Now if the Ford order banks would just open up.....:)

I got my vin from Ford customer service. You might want to give them a call on Tuesday. Phone is 800-334-4375.
