Do you tow anything now or do you plan to in the future? I was totally impressed with my first towing experience, but I'm going to delve further into how my Mav handles towing a load internally. I'm looking into buying an OBD2 and using forescan software to be able to read transmission temperatures, etc. My engine temp did not increase under the tow load (based on the dash gauge) so I'm hopeful the trans temp stays in the normal range under a load too. Unseen damage is still damageI keep waffling on whether I'm gonna keep my 4K EB Mav or upgrade to a 2023 hybrid Mav. I just can't decide if the trade-off in towing cap is worth the small increase in MPG. My usage is around 60% highway and 40% city. Can't make up my mind. Frustrating!
Also, on the way back home I averaged 27 mpg (2 miles below the rated 29 mpgs for a eb Mav) over 3.5 hours of highway travel at 80 mph with the AC on which included construction traffic jams with mostly "stop" and a little "go" for about 20 minutes, with a total trip of about 200 miles.
All driving on 87 octane fuel. Was going to fill up with premium prior to the short 7 mile round-trip tow run to increase hp/torque, but the 1 gas station on the way to the dock was too crowded to fill up the tank. Glad the extra ponies were not needed
