  1. What's your Maverick mileage and ownership time?

2022 XLT,AWD, FX4, tow package with Ecoboost in Carbonized Gray, 35,000 miles. Running great and no problems yet
  2. Jeepers ….$150 oil change???

You think that's bad. I have an AWD FX4 and had the transmission and differential fluid serviced @ 32k miles and they charged me $635. I only let them do it because I wanted to make sure if I had a problem before my 6/60k warranty runs out that they didn't say I had used the wrong fluids and...
  3. My hood inverted!

I have 2 Mavericks. We live in a dusty dirt road. We have the unlimited car wash plan and have been running each of them through there about 5 times a week for the 2 years and 30,000 miles we have owned them. Yes many times the hoods oil can down from the blower. I was concerned at first but I...
  4. Oil Analysis Report for 2022 Maverick XLT 2.0 EcoBoost w/ tow package and FX4. 5000 miles on truck, 4000 miles on oil.

I have 30k on my 2022 with Ecoboost. I have my own shop and lift and did my first Mobil 1 oil change at 1000 miles and noticed that it was not only pretty dark but thin and already had a gas smell to it. I have been changing it every 4,000 miles because I am OCD and it's only 35$ for the oil and...
  5. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

I am 67 and have a 2022 Lariat with Ecoboost and all options. My wife is 71 and her Maverick is a 2022 XLT AWD FX4 with an Ecoboost engine. Her Maverick just passed 25k miles. Both are Carbonized Gray and we have not had the first issue with either of them.
  6. 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat AWD road trip w/ issues

I recently took a trip in my FX4 AWD 2.0 Ecoboost up to Buffalo from Florida and picked up a 2400 lb 1987 Shelby GLHS and a lot of parts and towed it back to Florida. I ran 76 mph all the way and got 19 mpg While towing. I figured that between the car, tow dolly, and the spare part I was towing...
  7. 2nd oil change at 9782 miles, and some thoughts

I have 2 Mavericks and they are both 2.0 Ecoboost engines. Use full synthetic. A synthetic blend only has to have 1% synthetic in it to be called a "blend". Between both my Mavericks I have about 35k miles. I run Mobil 1. I did my first change at 1000 miles and change at least every 4k and the...
  8. Snow/Leaf Season. Mind the Gap.

I have several metal carports on my property here in Florida. They have all been through many 100mph+ hurricanes and they have all held up well. If you are going to put up a garage make sure you make it big. My shop is 30'x 40' and it still is packed and I ended up putting a 2nd floor in a...
  9. Do your own oil changes (avoid dealer service)!

I have 25k miles on my 2022 XLT with off road FX4 package, all wheel drive, and Ecoboost engine and tow package. I have my own shop behind the house with a lift in it and I do my own oil changes. I am here in Florida where it's hot and I tow a fair amount so I change my oil with Mobil 1 ever...
  10. His and Hers Mavericks.

My wife and I love ours.
  11. 1st oil change, competed at Ford Dealership and I have a question . . .

That's the plan James. I am just speaking from years of experience. I have been turning wrenches and restoring vehicles for 53 years and have owned 452 (148 were motorcycles). I have my own fully equipped shop here at my house and this formula has always worked for me. When I was young there was...
  12. 1st oil change, competed at Ford Dealership and I have a question . . .

Use full synthetic. A synthetic blend only has to have 1% synthetic in it to be called a "blend". Between both my Mavericks I have about 30k miles. I run Mobil 1 and change at least every 5k and the oil always comes out very dark and dirty when I change it. I think that between the Florida heat...
  13. Can I expect 10 years of reliable service from 2.0 EB Maverick?

I have been a mechanic for 53 years and do the following with all my turbocharged vehicles and both my Ecoboost Mavericks. Let your turbo warm up on start up and cool down before shut down for a minute. Get a module so the auto start/stop is disabled so you don't have interrupted oil flow to the...
  14. Found this surprise under my seat

That "pee funnel" is the only way to put gas in the tank if you are pouring it out of another container.
  15. Anyone else considering not buying?!

I agree completely. I retired at 58 and people ask me how. I tell them that you need to be debt free and have residual income. We worked hard and paid off everything and own a commercial property that is on a long term lease. It works for us and can for you but it means working hard and...
  16. Custom Build Cyber Orange Ford Maverick at Daytona Turkey Run Car Show

The gentleman said he wasn't happy with them either. He said he was going to paint the part that actually covers the glass black so that part of the shade looked like the window and made the shade look smaller. It's still a work in progress. I asked how it rode with the 22 inch tires with the...
  17. Custom Build Cyber Orange Ford Maverick at Daytona Turkey Run Car Show

I went to the Daytona Turkey Rod Run this past weekend and met a super nice gentleman who had built this Lariat. He had painted over his stock yellow paint with a clear pearl which really looked nice and had painted all of his black trim to match. He had added lots of factory accessories like...
  18. Lariat trim, worth it?

I have a Lariat Lux, FWD and my wife has an XLT AWD FX4 both have EB engines. I love my Lariat Lux because of the Sirius XM as well as all the bells and whistles and I like the Active X seating surfaces compared with the cloth on the XLT. I will agree with some of the earlier posts regarding a...
  19. Unexpected interior wear

I have coated the interiors of both of my Mavericks as well as all the exterior trim and tanneau covers and don't have a scratch anywhere.
