I think the fact that the Maverick uses 2 LED lights rather than just one for the headlights, is confusing some drivers. An oncoming driver flashed thier brights at me (at close range) because they must have thought I had my brights on seeing 4 lights lit up. Have to say I have almost never used brights on any of my vehicles.

I have had the same thing occur, I usually politely leave it be, unless they flash a second time - then they get a quick FLASH

Not sure why this is still confusing.. many, many LED reflector equipped cars use multiple modules. Our Integra uses 4 projectors per side and we rarely get flashed.

So far nothing for me. And I have the Lariat which adds the LED running light on top of the housing. Driving home at night after work and rarely do I get flashed. I figured I would since a lot of cars still use halogens or projector beams with LED runners. LEDs, even relector style ones, are very bright at night which is great for visibility but sometimes blinding for other drivers but so far so good.

Part of the problem is human nature. Some people are still not aware that the newer vehicles with the LED headlights seem, and maybe are, brighter than the older bulbs. It is tempting to just put on the high beams and leave them on to help them learn but that is too dangerous. It's just like a lot of other things. Some people take longer to get the big picture. It gets frustrating at times.

The procedure to check alignment of headlights is on page 313 of the manual. Notice in diagram that the top of the low beam light at 25 feet from the wall is at the center line of the height of the headlights from the ground. Also notice that the portion of the light pattern is only half that height to the left of the drivers lane!!! You have to cover the side of the truck that you are not checking and then do it again. Also notice that while doing this the hood is to be raised, presumably to give you a more accurate view without having to raise up to see over hood!!! HAVE FUN!!!!

It could be that depending on curvature of road it may appear that your lower beams may be higher that expected by incoming traffic!

I have noticed with my high beams on automatic while driving on totally dark road and when speed drops to 26-28 mph and high beams are automatically turned off the passenger side low beams light up further than the driver's side to the left of road. So this could be a way to check the straight ahead alignment but not with precision as to height. The high beams will turn back on automatically at about 32 mph.

I have more problems with the idiots that actually drive at night with their high beams on all the time or some goofy big ass truck sitting too high and never readjusting their head lights. I have never been flashed driving my Maverick.:D

This is by design and true on all cars with properly aligned headlights.

I have only been flashed once, by someone in a newer car with LED headlights, when flashed him back I could see his whole face light up! I don't flash anyone first anymore, because so many vehicles now have very bright factory lights, the ones that really grind my gears are the GM trucks from the late 90's thru early 2000's that have aftermarket led's in them, they are blinding in the middle of the daytime.

If this is a common occurrence, you should verify the adjustment, or take it to the dealer to verify.

I had this (flashed by on coming drivers) happen frequently with my Honda Pilot with LED projectors, and it was because the D/S light was not adjusted properly.

I've encountered Mavericks at night and don't find them to be dazzling at all. From a driver perspective, I've owned many cars with both LED and HID lighting and if I had to rank them all, the Maverick would be at the bottom.

Maverick LED headlights are acceptable and better than halogens, but that's as high of praise as I can give them. I'm curious to see the headlight test results from the IIHS. I expect a rating of "acceptable" or "poor" just based on my experience with it and other brands.

How is your Integra (H/L wise)?

Wife's RDX has the 7-lens projectors, probably the best OEM H/L performance of anything I've driven.
