Love my XLT Lux Hybrid. I'm getting pretty amazing gas mileage (lots of highway driving at 75mph and still around 43 mpg) even though my front bumper cover got broken by the dealer during the recall fix. Definitely a few complaints (ECO mode isn't default, phone calls not connecting properly) but it's a really great driving vehicle, packs really easy, and is really comfortable. I only waited 6 months for mine, very happy customer.
So glad you're enjoying your new Maverick. Thank you for being part of the Ford Family.

I really like my Maverick like the rest of the people on here. Purchased a ecoboost Lariat AWD but I am disappointed in the fuel economy. I can't seem to average more then 23 MPG and I do a lot of back road and city driving. I don't drive it hard but the ecoboost isn't fuel efficient. I have even tried to drive with the cruise on backroads and I am still not seeing great mileage. It does only have 800 miles on it, but after two fill ups I wish I could say I average 25+ mpg.

In Feb I picked up a in between vehicle, Escape Hybrid AWD and regularly averaged 37 MPG. The Escape rode rougher and didn't handle as well. If I could do it over again I would have ordered the Hybrid even thought it's only FWD and I live in a cold climate the low end power of the electric motor and start and stop feature works way better in the Ford hybrids. Other then that it's a great little truck for the money!

Just over 500 miles on mine and getting slightly over 24 mpg so far. Way better than the 12 mpg that I was getting in my Ram! Lol

To reduce the odds of having buyer’s remorse, I bought a Ford Protect extended warranty. Ford’s quality reputation isn’t great, so knowing that I’ve already paid for anything that might go wrong for the next 8 years keeps me relaxed. While I usually keep my vehicles for longer than that, I can sell it within 8 years if it turns out to be a dud.

That said, I’m extremely happy with my XL hybrid. Ford did a great job designing a practical, powerful, efficient, and comfortable smaller truck with a terrific price. Here’s hoping that it’ll run for many, many years to come.

My only real complaint is the hybrid “fire” recall. It’s pathetic that Ford has chosen to damage the shutter unit rather than address the actual cause of a potential fire. Something that I’ll remember the next time I’m in the market for a new vehicle.

Have mine for about 5 months/6000 miles. Hybrid/XLT Lux/CP360. Truth be told after waiting 8 months (July '21 - April '22), when my Sales Rep called to tell me it arrived, I had second thoughts. Like someone earlier mentioned I'm also "cheap" and hated the thought of spending $$ on a car - (I hate a nickel because it isn't a dime). On the drive there to pick it up, I convinced myself that I was prepared to walk away over the slightest doubt. During the test drive, I tried to find any reason to back out of the deal. But I couldn't come up with a single thing. This little truck might end up being the best vehicle I ever had (literally over a dozen from compacts to sedans to SUVs to Pick-ups). If it had 18" wheels it would be perfect. I know the Lariat has them, but I couldn't sell myself the upgrade...Time will tell but up to now, no issues, no regrets, and I'm still washing it 2-3 times a week 😂

So the OP was basically seeking emotional support and got it in spades. In terms of facts, they got nothing. People were asserting crazy ratios of happy to unhappy buyers and they basically pulled imaginary numbers out of their asses.

If emotional support is what the OP wanted, this was a successful thread. If facts are what the OP wanted, this thread was a failure. Because it's a series of anecdotes. We'll all know if the Maverick is a brilliant success or a failure in about 5 years. That's about how long it takes for facts to accumulate and quality measurement organization to collect a valid statistical measurement of Maverick quality or lack thereof.

There are two dominant narratives on this site. One is owners floating across the clouds in their Mavericks with Ford Angels feeding them grapes as they blissfully eat up the miles. The second is owners waiting months in service and parts purgatory as their poorly and cheaply designed and rushed-to-market Maverick sits in the driveway or the dealership rusting (apparently they spray on rust during manufacturing). Pick the narrative that makes you happy. Then wait 5 years and you'll know if you picked right.

There's a third narrative, and it takes more emotional and mental discipline and honesty than most can marshal: "Nobody yet knows yet if it's a rolling heap of trash or a fine automotive jewel, but we'll roll the dice and then roll with the punches". (sorry for the mixed metaphors).

I know that comes across sounding like some kind of hater. Not true. Anxious to get my Maverick next month. Genuinely looking forward to it.

I am a 22 order holder getting pushed to 23. I ordered in January. Although I am disappointed I have not yet gotten my truck, I think being pushed to 23 is a blessing in disguise. Overall, I believe the Maverick is a great vehicle, but clearly there were some issues. Some have been corrected at the factory and some led to recalls.

This will all get sorted out in time, but I think for 23, there will be far fewer issues. The big issues are known now, being addressed and should be much fewer in year two. I actually feel good about a 23 Maverick, and continue to be eager for my truck. This is said with full knowledge of the known issues, but also a ton of feedback from customers on this forum who absolutely LOVE the Maverick. Thousands upon thousands of satisfied customers can't be wrong.
I also ordered in Jan. My dealer has no new information. How did you find out you were pushed out to 2023? Also, did they increase the price of your vehicle? Thank You

This was almost exactly my experience. I'm a skinflint from way back, and I've always bought previous model years off the lot at heavy discounts up until now. So my attitude going in was if they expected me to pay MSRP for the first time in my life, they were damn well going to have to deliver. And as with you, the test drive completely won me over. I signed the paperwork with a smile on my face, and eight months later....I'm still smiling! 😁 Definitely the best new vehicle experience I've ever had.

I absolutely love my XL 2.0 AWD - probably the best truck I've owned. I would likely feel the same had I gone with the XL Hybrid, but I'd question myself if I had gone up and over with the XLT lux and so-on; I feel the Mav is best appreciated when viewed as an inexpensive lite duty pickup.

Had my EB AWD Lariat since last October. Been great. Few minor glitches. But there is a firmware/software fix. Drivers keyless entry by touching door handle stops working. That’s it.

So, a little background so you understand where I’m coming from, and why I love my Maverick, and why I’m not concerned with recalls.

I ordered a VB hybrid XLT with the Lux pkg and CP360 on 15 Oct. In my mind, I have Ford 3 months to at least get my order into production. On 15 January, the only email was the confirmation email, and Ford CS wasn’t much help, so I began contacting dealers as far away as I was willing to travel, seeking a customer canceled hybrid of any trim level. I found and bought one in Gastonia, NC, flew up, and drove it 546 miles back home.

The truck was quiet, smooth, and a pleasure to drive, even though the XL I bought didn’t have CC. The truck was even better than I thought it was going to be!! I had contemplated just keeping it and canceling my original order, as I was very pleased with it!!
On 30 March, the dealer I placed my order from called and said they just took a VB hybrid XLT with the Lux pkg off the truck, and the customer canceled it as he decided to buy a Ranger. I traded in the XL, and was pleasantly surprised with the difference between the XL and XLT with lux!! I use this truck for everything I do, including making runs to the hardware stores for yard supplies and lumber, hauling my 5’ x 8’ utility trailer to deliver raised bed garden boxes that I hand build to customers, to putting my Aventon Aventure fat tire e-bike in the bed to go to rides on the beach.

I’ve never had one problem with either the XL or XLT. Yes, I got the recall notice for the engine, just like I did for my wife’s 2022 hybrid Escape SE. It’s a repairable fix paid by Ford, so no big deal.
I am extremely satisfied with my XLT hybrid with the Lux pkg!!
But wait!! There’s more!! I had completely given up hope about my original order of a hybrid XLT with the Lux pkg and CP, as I had been notified like so many of you about the constraints and suggestions to remove the lux pkg and CP. I had pretty much made up my mind that I was just going to keep what I have and forget about my order. And that, I did, until 22 August, when I received a very unexpected email from Ford at 1650 hrs, notifying me that I have a production date of 19 Sept. Do I really expect it to be manufactured on that date? No, as I expect delays as most everyone with a production date has.
So, this will be my third Maverick this year. No second guessing for me, as I have full confidence in the Maverick’s performance and reliability!!
And no, I didn’t pay any dealer markup for either of the Mavericks I purchased. The XL I traded in for the current XLT offset any dealer markup fees. And I confirmed with the dealer that the price on the purchase agreement I signed for my order on 15 October, is the price I will pay w/o any added fees. And lastly, I am not trading in the current XLT when my order arrives, whenever that may be.

I hope this takes the second guessing and doubts out of some peoples minds.
Best truck I ever had!!

I am getting to order a 2023 Maverick and I am getting concerned about all the issues I am reading about. Anyone want to chime in and make me feel more confident about my potential purchase? How many of you are sorry you bought the vehicle.
No regrets here. Traded in my F150 powerboost. 5k miles in and no issues at all. My Maverick has less rattles than my F150 did. We bought my wife a new Toyota in 2019 that needed the transmission replaced after 2k miles.
