Here's a much better 2-door concept.

This link is TFL looking at the Jeep J6 concept. Note they say it is 201" long with a 6' bed. That's a full foot and a half shorter than the fat bloated pig known as the Maverick. If it were a BEV, we'd store our stuff in the frunk. Somebody will build something like this. And they'll outsell the Maverick and Santa Cruz combined.

You're absolutely correct. Very few, if any, two-door trucks are being produced. Manufacturers recognized customer demand for family capable 4 door trucks. No company is going to invest in a diminishing field.

I'll jump on this comment by adding that the classic Ram pickup flopped because the mainstream of buyers will use the back seat for storage and securing things they don't want to keep in the bed.

The Lund bed extender adds to feet of hauling length with a flip in and out feature. This gives you the best of both worlds with seating for four and an extended when when necessary.

They still make the RAM Classic. The RAM Classic doesn't have to do with being a 2-door; it's just a warmed-over 2017 RAM for cheap to keep using old tooling because they couldn't make enough of the new generation. Then they slapped a newer grille on it and that's the RAM Warlock that's always advertised for budget price.

If my order ended up as a 2023, I would have been very happy to go with a hybrid, one and a half foot version with a longer bed. I am going to be using a lot of bungee cords with my 12.5 foot kayak in the Maverick bed.

Thank you for the information! I've always liked the look of that truck. "Classic" is appropriate.

They're also the only way to get a 2-door as the 5th gens only come in 4-door. At least the newer Classics come with a proper screen; a coworker had an '18 or '19 and the obligatory backup camera in the rearview mirror setup was kinda lousy.

Wayyy too many years of buying racks and parts of racks for various cars. It was the main reason I returned to driving a pick up truck. Have no desire at all to go back to those hassles.

My post was a suggestion to NJ Pinelands who was complaining about how he was supposed to load up his kayaks in the Maverick. No, I never have had the need for a rack system, but clearly, some people find them as an acceptable solution. After your rather extended negative view of the Maverick, one has to wonder why you purchased one in the first place.

I still harbor hope that Ford will release the much-hinted Bronco truck in two variants. One based on the 2-door, and one based on the 4-door. The Bronco 2-door dimensions just look so cool. If you take out the rear seat, as many have, it's an awesome two-person runabout. Replace the back with a bed - it reaches beyond awesome. Make it a BEV, as Ford has promised, and it reaches orbit.

I said hope, not expect.
