How does he know they are deaf? Are they wearing a "I am deaf" sandwich board? Maybe he can tell when they are reading lips. A thought = if someone is speaking a foreign language does the deaf person take a video of the lip movement and the cell phone translates it and shows it on the screen?
My point was that it was weird to bring up deaf people in regards to whether or not something made a sound.

Think about it for a moment.

Any decent attorney would ask the maverick driver to prove his backup beeper was working and to prove it.
Any human with a brain cell would reattach the sound back on at home. Yall clearly are lawsuit heavy without actually knowing how to play the game

Not ALL of us down here. I thought of the exact thing you just said. But it’s not worth my time and hassle to worry about a lousy fake sound either.

So you're in an accident. Your vehicle is towed. You may be injured as well. Your going to remember and be able to dissemble this device.

Obviously there is a desire for this device or it wouldn't be on the market.
Those that want it...install it. To each there own.

I will not. (and those that do so should probably not post so on social media) ;)

If you're going fast enough to damage your vehicle to need a tow, the sound is not going to matter and it will have been due to other factors. The realistic incident is someone doesn't hear you backing up and you knock someone or blind corner & you knock someone. Both of which you're going to get to go home & cover your ass

I understand now. You can go home and cover your ass after you injurer someone because you were annoyed by the artificial vehicle noise.

There you go, glad to see you know reality now instead of fantasy collision dreams

I just wish there was options. Like ringtones back in the day. You get 10 mildly annoying sounds but at least one is tolerable.

As a bicyclist I really appreciate the engine noises, as hybrids and electrical cars can really sneak up on you.

This product makes sense for country folk though.

I live in the country and it's probably even more important here. We get a lot of hobbyist cyclists around. They're probably even less suspecting of a vehicle coming up behind them because there are fewer vehicles on the road. In the city you're always going to be more focused and alert.

That actually was under proposal for consideration and the NHTSA ruled against it just last month. Probably due to Tesla screwing it up with their "boombox feature" potentially overriding the alert noise.

At country speeds, your engine comes on+tire noise. This is literally for when you're in a parking lot or busy street at extremely low speeds (in which case you can just turn on your a/c or heat to kick on the ICE or you can roll down your windows and play music)

There is a product out there where you can change the noise of your vehicle to literally any super car whatever but its NOT cheap .. .$xxxx cost

The sound is there to alert pedestrians, bicyclists and especially blind people that a 4000 lb vehicle is approaching.
It's not a game, you fucking imbecile.

Don't you know? The only concern should be a legal one. Not a moral, ethical one!

Never mind that one hates to imagine how people drive who think like this... Safety on the road is everyone's responsibility.
