Is anyone here NOT enjoying their 2.0?

Looks like I don't have much of a choice. Wife is pushing really hard for a popup camper to use between now and our goal of a full size truck and 5th wheel.

Now to decide if I want FX4 or a sunroof!
I have both FX4 & sunroof. But if I had to pick one it would have been the roof. It's sweet.

It's not just the benefit of AWD, although that is the bulk of it, but also the independent rear suspension. Much more smoother ride and better handling especially if one frequents bumpy crappy roads and washboard gravel roads. As an example, ride in a Ridgeline and then a Ranger on the same lousy road. The difference is huge.

IMHO the improvement in the rear suspension over FWD torsion beam is a game changer for me.

So I keep going back and forth between the hybrid and Ecoboost.

I drive 70 miles a day so I would definitely benefit from the hybrid, but it seems that as more Ecoboosts get into owners hands the reported mileage isn't too bad on those either.

I know FWD with good tires works just fine in the snow, and we really don't get much snow to cause too many problems, but AWD would be nice just in case.

I also don't really need the 4k tow at this time, but again nice to have just in case.

I've had my 2.0 XLT FWD since mid February. Have about 2300 miles on it. Haven't taken a long road trip but am getting about 23 MPG mainly in town. I love my lil truck. It's my first truck. It's handy for all kinds of projects and comfortable/roomy enough for 4 adults and golf clubs. Added a tri-fold tonneau cover which is a great addition. More MPG would be nice but with my limited driving, the extra pep is good and fun to have.

Both my brother and I are still enjoying our XLT 2.0 FWD Mavs. And yes they can pull loads just fine. I've yet to want for or need AWD.
My brother recently towed a Honda Civic Si 50 miles back to my house. That was 3600lbs with the tow dolly, up and down hills.

The Mav performed flawlessly.
No, not everyone needs AWD.
My brother said it pulled the load with ease.
Besides, the Mavs AWD is FWD more than 90% of the time.
However, I wouldn't mind having that independent suspension in the back. 😁

I would have paid extra for that!

Driving styles play a huge factor in mpg. I get roughly 26 mpg in mixed driving. While my brother is around 23 mpg. He can't keep his foot out of that turbo! 😂

I have 2.0, awd, 4k and over the last 3 tanks have averaged 31.6 mpg combined. I've been as high as 42 mpg highway. Towing does drop the mpg. I pulled a landscape trailer with my BMW motorcycle on a 1200 mile trip and only got 22 mpg. This truck has done nothing but impress me. I traded a fairly new Audi Q5 and it is 9/10th the Audi with better utility and mileage. Not much for bells and whistles but hey, I can turn my own wipers on when it rains.

Wowser, those are some impressive EB mileage stats right there. I will consider myself more than blessed if I get numbers like that. BTW, you got 8 mpg better towing your trailer and bike than I get with my Ranger just hauling my ass. Great number right there!!!

Frankly I am glad the Mav does not have a lot of bells and whistles to keep the cost down. I just do not spend a lot of time in a vehicle anymore to make those kinds of things worth it. Just gotta have a heated steering wheel for my arthur in the winter. It helps tremendously.

It honestly depends on the route I take. Highway route, about 10 of those total 70 are 45 or less with stop lights.

If I go the alternate route it's a state route, 55 in a short section, otherwise 45 or less for a majority of it.
At those speeds I would think the hybrid would get the better milage.

I love the EcoBoost. And definetly get the 4k tow package and FX4. It has better cooling, better gear ratios. Even if you don't use it it is nice to have it. The mono-shock rear suspension in the FX4 is way better than the regular one in poorly maintained roads.

Originally I wanted the xlt hybrid with the lux package but having seen and test driven the 2.0 I'm torn. I always told myself I won't get another vehicle that's not 4wd/awd as it seems to really help in the winters especially but, the fuel economy, price of the hybrid, and the ability of a compact truck drew me in. But now I find myself leaning more towards the 2.0 xlt with awd, lux, 4k tow, and fx4, I don't tow anything currently but it seems like so much more "truck" or at least capability for only ~$3,500 more. What does everyone else think? Worth it?

Pretty nervous after seeing this....
It says right in the description it's a 2014, and the only fix is with the updated block design.

You think they have 2 different blocks sitting around, waiting until you have a leak, to give you the good block?

This was resolved in I believe 2019? For some reason the same story about the leak keeps getting circulated.

I thought the guy clearly said all 4cyl ecoboost all years. Can you show an article or video showing the update?

No, google it. It's very well documented that it was addressed with a redesign in 2019/2020 and the updated design doesn't have this issue. It has been addressed on this forum as well.
