Mine was Sept 21 build. Just got it back. Battery cable was not connected. Spliced the cable, put on a section of new cable, a new eyelet and then heat shrunk the tubing. All tested good after the repair. I'm hopeful that it holds up.When was your truck built? I looked but didn't see where you had already shared that.
I worked for a company that made machine tools. My boss set up a crimping machine to crimp stakons for the wiring. He used the wrong die. It ended up cutting the wire at the crimp. I had to go through a hundred of these machines and hand crimp the wiring. So it happens.IMO it's one of the reasons there is a ford rep posting here asking for information. They use the forums as an early warning system and roll out fixes before it becomes a big issue. Especially with a new model they will likely be pretty vigilant for this sort of thing. It could come down to something simple like a guy on the second shift wasn't trained right and was putting the cables in using the wrong fasteners.
Could you share a copy/ pic of the dealers fix report? ... Thanks.Mine was Sept 21 build. Just got it back. Battery cable was not connected. Wait until those DI Ecoboost start having oil issues. It is not Ford issue, but a DI engines issues. Thinking about it, is there any vehicles out there with no problems?Yep - Losing vehicle power while moving is a huge issue. Hopefully most of these Maverick that are dying r doing it in driveways/parking lots and not in an intersection or I-5.
"Yes, you entitled jerks! How dare you expect a vehicle that runs and drives! Now get back in your Uber and get on down the ramp... Ford will fix your brand new truck when they get around to it."WTF are you going on about?
You bought a truck, you got a warranty.
Ford will fix the truck under warranty.
What more do you people feel entitled to?
Someone posted a new video breakdown on the DI engine and it seems that problems can be somewhat remedied by a specific oil type -Wait until those DI Ecoboost start having oil issues. It is not Ford issue, but a DI engines issues. Thinking about it, is there any vehicles out there with no problems?
Certain types of oil can help, but a DI engine is basically designed in such a way that it is unavoidable. You'll just have to have intake valves cleaned at some point if you own it forever, but that's not a huge deal.Someone posted a new video breakdown on the DI engine and it seems that problems can be somewhat remedied by a specific oil type -
Think some of the Fords have that too now. To clean it it is a fairly big job. But if you have to do it once I guess not that bad.Certain types of oil can help, but a DI engine is basically designed in such a way that it is unavoidable. All companies at this point should follow the path that IIRC Toyota forged (at least in the mainstream). That is, dual injection. Toyota was using that as far back as 2006 on the IS350. Now, basically all of their lineup is equipped that way.
Bob has the only messed up hybrid, the rest are fine. All these constant threads on hybrid issues makes me appreciate that I went with my "gut feeling" early on and ordered the EB.
For me it was a combination of first year/hybrid probably having the most growing pains as well as not being capable enough. No AWD and limited to 2k towing max. Just wasn't enough truck there for me on top of potential build issues. Now for my second Mav, well I wouldn't rule it out as an eventual replacement. All these constant threads on hybrid issues makes me appreciate that I went with my "gut feeling" early on and ordered the EB.
