Our neighbor had that happen with his Bronco and after some "discussions" with Ford and the dealers, they honored his contracted price and gave him some Ford "credit points" to use for his trouble having to wait basically 18 months.
Okay. Thanks. Trying to stay optimistic that being rolled over won't be to bad. It will be interesting to see what changes are made to a '23

I'm just hoping that not receiving this email means that I'm getting scheduled lol

OMG you are so optimistic, have you considered writing a self-help book? Lots of money in those I think.

Suggested title:

"What I learned about optimism from my decade on the Ford Maverick Wait List"...

i have a few constraint items but I’ve been a priority 2 now for over 2 months. I ordered 11/13/21. I honestly just don’t think Ford knows what they are doing, as a coworker ordered an absolutely base model XL hybrid the same day I ordered mine and he’s still not scheduled.
Just because your order is priority 2 doesn't mean you have a constraint item. Here are the items you should stay clear of, I would focus on the numbers below 20%.
Ford Maverick This is the e-mail coming at 3PM today (6/29) to unscheduled order holders Constraint List Maverick Jun

Summary:

Ford: We can't build your truck.
You can remove the options you chose and maybe get scheduled.
Or you can keep your options and choose the mystery offer.

What's the mystery offer? Find out in August!

But we need your decision by next week!

Choose wisely! May the odds be ever in your favor.

choose-wisely.jpg
The offer will be to offset some/most/all of the price increase for the 23 MY. It won't be something that you'll make some extra money on.

Well I have a fully loaded Lariat ordered on Dec26th. Assuming I will have to reorder. Will I be able to switch the order to a Hybrid? If I can't get the fully loaded model I want. I would rather switch to a more base model.

HAHAHA!

I love my dealer and how they have their finger on the pulse of reality. Here is their reply to the short but detailed email I sent them about dropping a few specific items. Keep in mind I am still a Priority 19. Also keep in mind my email included forwarding the Ford email and even referencing it in my own message.....the one that tells me to contact my dealer to drop everything I can drop.

"I'm not sure if it's too late to modify your Maverick order or not, but I will try to make those changes for you when I make it in today. I will let you know what can and can't be done."

October order. Just got the email. I say everyone keep their order the same. This is just a way for Ford to increase the price when you decide to take the 23. They are upset people are stealing these trucks for under 30k.. My price is locked and I'm not changing a thing.

Opinions on best option for my situation. Ordered 10/12 - Lariat, hybrid, luxury, 360 CP.
1) Drop luxury and 360 and take a gamble on 2022?. Wanted SYNC3 in the luxury...but, oh well...OR
2) Let it ride and flip to 2023 keeping all options in tact? Fear 2023 will be a big price jump and the discount will not cover.... again a gamble.

Look, at this point, all the power is in our hands. I wouldn't change anything. Let it ride, see what the MY23 options are, see what Ford's private offer is and then do what's best for you. That can include everything from rolling your current order to a 23, revising your order with different specs or walking away altogether. I really want a Maverick, but I'm not going to lie and say there isn't a certain appeal to getting off this Ford roller coaster and looking at vehicles that actually exist.

Spoke to my dealer. They don't have much more info, but what I was told is

They suspect Ford's going to provide an incentive/discount to preorders = to the difference between order price and same kit '23 @ 8/22 (which would mean custom discounts depending on your order specs and date), and then price protect from that (8/22, '23 model) price. He said almost offhand that the discount "may even" be more than that amount, but definitely sounded like he felt that wasn't likely from his intonation.

Didn't sound like he expected financing to be protected from original order date, but rather would get reset to the 8/22 financing rates/promo's and be protected from that date.

He echoed what some people suggested in that he doubts there'll be major changes. Most likely a couple colors change/new colors and other minor stuff.

His understanding is that they WILL be reordering the 23 and your 22 order is cancelled, so you can make changes if you like (and if the discount is being done how they suspect, I would think that means you still get SOME savings b/c of your '22 preorder).

I asked if there would be a new order priority to track '22 rollovers to ensure we get build priority and he said that something like that would happen... basically the 23 orders from rollovers are likely to somehow indicate that we had a 22 order that was cancelled/wasn't built (name/address matching) and that Ford would have their own internal method to ensure we got built first (I have my suspicions about if this will actually happen, but he seemed confident).

All in all mostly best guesses on his part, but he probably has a better feel for these things than I do, so I figured I'd let you know what he said.

Will a MY23 "special private offer discount" cost me more than the price of my MY22 Lariat Hybrid (sunroof, copilot 360) that I had on 9 Nov 2021 order date?

My dealer said tow hitch is also considered a constraint. Doesn't make sense as the tow hitch is included not only on tow package but also on FX4 and Lux Package. Seems like the whole truck is now a constraint. Such a cluster f*%k.

The only constraint for me is the Lariat “Ultimate package” (assume that’s a loaded Lariat). Nothing else on that list do I have. Removed the film about a month ago. No letter from Ford 😉

If we keep our existing order and let it roll over into a '23 then does that mean we have to loose our place in line and complete a new order in Aug for a '23 model. How will we know what trim packages will be available and will there be future constraints that will get us right back into the current mess we are in?
