How do you power it? Please don't say Batteries.
Pretty sure it has a built in lithium. I wonder if it's rechargeable. It isn't auto-dimming which is the main point of me getting the KIA. And, no, (head down in shame) I have not yet installed it.

OK, I was able to install the Kia Mirror and tap into the wiring harness for the Dome lights. I watched a video on YouTube, and in the video, I watch the person telling which wires to use... Complete success. Had to make a run to O'Riely's to get wire connectors.

There are three "clips" holding the black cover on.

The second photo shows there is a "tether" connector that holds the panel (I couldn't figure out how to undo it)

We also took the cover/panel for the Dome light (I have a sunroof) down and disconnected the wires. I tapped into the wires for the dome light. The video I found did the same thing on another Ford vehicle and the same wires were there...

The black wire is your ground, the Purple wire is your (switch power) Yellow/green (last write on your right) wire is your constant power.

I used about a foot of the wire that came with the mirror, it was over kill but when everything is tucked back in place there is plenty of space.

In this photo you can see the green light is on the mirror, so the mirror is getting power. VERY simple and easy... Truly I could do this in about 25 minutes from start to finish.

Completely put back together looks factory.

Took a picture once the Mirror was calibrated to show the compass. Now, I need to program the homelink.

Can't believe how inexpensive this was from Kia.....

This is what I used to connect with the wiring harness.....

@Dad
Do you have Co-Pilot360? I tapped into the rear sliding window for my dash cam and it disabled my adaptive cruise control. Wonder if this will do the same

Hi all,

New to the forums. I actually have had an old homelink auto-dimming rearview mirror from a Nissan/Honda installed on my XLT since November.

I just connected the homelink mirror power and accessory wire together with the power from the ceiling light console power. When you turn off the vehicle the power will still be there for a bit but will eventually shut off by itself.

When I ordered mine, I had to call them, I kept getting an error, the parts guy was really nice, when he asked me what model year Kia, I laughed and told him what I had. I told him don't be surprised if you get a lot of orders for the mirror... But it's worth the wait.

I installed the Homelink mirror today in my Maverick. Big shoutout to clavicus for his video on showing how to properly remove the dome light-moonroof control panel. I'm sure I would have broken the tabs. Also a shoutout to Eagle11 for decoding the wiring. Had a Homelink mirror left over from a Miata, actually was a CX-9 mirror since the Miata didn't offer one. Worked like a charm, I wired mine a little different, Mazda wanted you to wire the power for the auto-dimming to the switched power and Homelink to the constant. I never liked that arrangement, don't like being able to open the garage door with the car turned off, doesn't seem secure. I instead wired both to the switched power. I will say that the Homelink really does remember the garage door opener, that thing has been sitting on my shelf for probably 1.5 to 2 years, when I powered it on and pressed the button, bingo, the garage door started to close.

Can you post the link to Clavicus's video on removing the dome light moon roof? Good move to thank those folks who took the time to help others in the club ... that's what this forum is all about.
