The deposit was $500, which is more than I expected, but the dealer told me that a deposit is a requirement now, as apparently some dealers have been putting in fake customer orders to try to bolster their stock. He also told me I was the first one to call them about the 2023 Maverick and actually put a deposit down, so hopefully that means I'll be one of the first people to get the new Maverick.
For now I went with the XL with AWD and 4k tow package as my only two additions, but I am debating on whether I should call back and upgrade to the XLT with the FX4 package, or just add a handful of things like CP360 and the manual rear window.
I'm almost certain I'm going to get those 2 options added at least. Mainly I'm just considering what options will be impossible to add later on that I might regret not getting.
I'm on the fence about upgrading to the XLT, because while I sure would like to have all those extra features on day one, from comparing the differences and looking them up here, it seems like all the standard XLT features I really care about can be added after the fact with relative ease. It could definitely still be worth it just for the convenience and added resale value, but I'm not sure.
In any case, I hope this forum will be a good resource to help me make those decisions. Luckily I still have two months to change my mind.
Whatever I end up with, it will be a massive upgrade from my rickety little Aveo. I cannot wait to be done with this thing.
