Had my Mav since Monday. Two issues ; a few times I thought the front door was locked but the door didn’t fully close with a normal effort push. Takes a decent slam to fully seal.

Also the rear seats are a bit of a pain to lock back upright after pulling them down.

otherwise love this trucklet

The rear seat issue is pretty common. It worried me the first time. I haven’t seen anyone mention the front door though.

Is there a trick to the rear seats?

hoping th e front door issue will disappear once the seals break in.

You need to be on the passenger side and it takes more force than a reasonable person would use on their brand new vehicle.

I had this issue when I first got my Maverick. After about 4k miles, it seems to have gone away - so you should be good.

Yes to both on my Lariat, which I picked up yesterday. I think I will get used to it and/or things will loosen up and break in.

On the door closing issue, check the entire seal to insure it's not folded or damaged. You may also want to insure the vent behind the rear seat is operable, it relieves cabin pressure when closing the doors.

good luck...

I had the front door problem. Only from the outside I would just backhand close the door and it wouldn't be enough force. The other three doors had no issues. But I've gotten better at making sure to use a little more force. Not a lot. But just more. Though it's gotten much better after 3 months that it rarely happens even when I close it lightly.

As for the back seat, passenger side, and place your palm in the middle of the seat where your see the match behind it. And when you slam it in place use more force than you think you should use (as another poster said) and it will latch. I thought mine was broken and was waiting for the oil change to get it looked at. But it works. It's just.... Incredibly rigid to latch.

Me too. Just when I was about to run by the dealer, it started closing easier. Now it is closing like one would expect. Just takes some "break-in time. Doc

I had the same issue but it was only the front driver door, all the other doors closed with a reasonable amount of force but the driver door took significantly more force to close so I don't think it's the pressure vent. Just something about that door or the seals around it, after a few months it closes much easier now, could be due to warmer weather. We'll see if it goes back to being difficult to close next winter.

Had same problem went away in a week for the door simply wore the seal in. For the rear seat you have to hold the open latch it doesn't always lock upright unless you get it just right. Folding the rear seat down getting it to lock back in was a huge pain I would have to sit on the seat and thump it with my back to get it to latch in.
