Anyone have tips for the side markers? I have the bulbs but following the instructions in the manual just led to messing up paint near the marker when trying to pry it out with a trim tool.
Mostly the driver side since the passenger is supposedly easy to access in the wheel well.
Yea, guess that’s what I’ll end up doing. Just wish the “right way” didn’t also mean screwing up the paint. Would be a lot nicer if it actually popped out the way it was designed to.Contort your hand inside the wheel well
Yep. I know what you mean first hand!Yea, guess that’s what I’ll end up doing. Just wish the “right way” didn’t also mean screwing up the paint. Would be a lot nicer if it actually popped out the way it was designed to.
I just did the side markers today ... driver side was very difficult, hand and first half of arm are scraped up. My hands are too big, so I couldn't touch the clip, but what I did that helped was hold a small screwdriver in my hand, and pressed against where I thought the clip was, while also pushing out, so that the light assembly would come out like is shown in the video linked earlier. If you have a child or maybe an adult with small hands, have them try. I should've asked my wife to help. Ha!Yea, guess that’s what I’ll end up doing. Nope no errors or hyper flash at all. Been almost a week of daily drivingCopy that, the tail lights work flawlessly in the Lariat! So no type of error codes or anything, or weird flashing? Really looking forward to completing the Lasfit LED look with these rear break lights! About to go do my front blinkers and the front side markers today.
The side markers will just pop out if you follow the directions in the manual. Just use a stiff plastic trim tool or a metal one wrapped in painters tape (to protect the paint). It takes a bit of force but they literally just pop out. Much easier than digging around behind the wheel wellI just did the side markers today ... driver side was very difficult, hand and first half of arm are scraped up. I used a variety of plastic trim tools and all of them warped the paint where pressure was appliedThe side markers will just pop out if you follow the directions in the manual. Yeah it's really just the driver side that is a bear because some Ford genius decided to put that part right in the way from getting to it from under the fender. My buddy has long skinny arms and was able to get to mine from the engine bay. That plastic clip they have on the side marker is very, very stout. The side markers will just pop out if you follow the directions in the manual. Ugh he removed a cover from underneath.. not sure if that's easier than going in through wheel well... what a pain. And I know cameras aren't super accurate compared to eyesight but man the blinkers look bright at night.Watch Daniels video. Easiest way to replace those marker lights. He does this about half way in the video. Hope this helps.
