So, after listening to the @fordvideoguy livestream on YouTube last night, one of the big takeaways is that Ford plans to build more than 10,000 Mavericks in June (April scheduling). So, that's pretty good news, as it indicates a significant increase from current production levels.

Tim also said Ford has told dealers it intends to produce MY22 Mavericks until Oct. 21. So, that means there are still nearly FIVE FULL MONTHS of production to be scheduled. Assuming Ford can meet or exceed its June production quota for the remainder of the model year, you're looking at getting an additional almost 50,000 Mavericks scheduled, on top of all those that have already been scheduled and/or produced.

OK, so that's the GOOD news. Now, for the BAD news — at least for those of us with constrained items. The Lariat Luxury and XLT Luxury packages remain severely constrained, at just 13 percent and 14 percent of available build capacity, respectively. I believe what that means is that Ford can build no more than 13 percent of current Lariat production with the Lux pack and no more than 14 percent of current XLT production with the Lux pack.

So, assuming that situation does not improve, and Ford is building 10,000 Mavericks a month for the remainder of the production year, that means no more than 1,300 of those built each month will be Lariat Luxes, and no more than 1,400 will be XLT luxes. Or, taken as a whole for the remainder of the model year, Ford may only be able to schedule another 6,500 Lariat luxes and another 7,000 XLT luxes. Please tell me @fordvideoguy if I am not explaining this properly, but bottom line is things will definitely be "iffy" for those of us with luxury packages.

If you have a build without luxury or co-pilot 360, I would actually feel pretty confident about getting scheduled during MY22, barring significant additional setbacks in the supply chain.

So basically, your saying those of us with Lux packages should be ready to buy a Ridgeline or re-order for a huge wait for MY 23.... If they can't build them by October 21, then they sure as hell can't build them for MY 23... But I would bet that dealers will take orders for them and with the Ford Allocations System, New Orders will be built before Re-Orders. FORD JUST PLAIN SUCKS.

I mean, I don't know for sure, but it sure doesn't sound great for build with luxury packs, and that includes mine. I don't really know what to do, because I honestly really WANT the luxury pack on my XLT. I mean, in addition to "creature comforts" such as the heated seats and steering wheel, the package includes a bed liner, power outlets in the cab and bed and bed lighting. These are all very useful "truck" type features that will be great when hauling loads or when I just want to plug my air compressor or battery charger into the bed outlet while working on projects. If I wanted a basic build, I would have ordered it that way.

I have no inside track on anything, buy for me, being a January order, I honestly just feel like it's a roll of the dice. I can't say it's impossible, because I've seen plenty of other January orders with luxury packages already get scheduled. But I also don't think it's likely either. Really disappointing, to be honest...

My dealer has already told me that it is unlikely I will get my Lariat Lux, ordered on 1/14, as a 22 unless I drop the Lux package.

I feel your pain. Late June order and confirmed. Hybrid XLT, lux and floor liners. I want/need the heated items in the lux pkg. We use those up here in northern Michigan. I'm still ice fishing. I can wait, but my patience is slipping. My dealer received 2 Mavs recently, both with SIBL. they didn't have lux pkg. WTH. No emails from Ford, no info from dealer. Don't think I will see it until late summer at best. If so I will have had 2 birthdays since ordering. July 5th.

The Maverick I ordered has all the constrained items...XLT luxury package, CoPilot 360, ect.
I will not drop those items. I'm willing to wait it out...I now plan on selling the damn thing once I get it....if I ever get it....10 months and counting since ordered.

Of course, my dealer having so few allocations doesn't help. I've also been pessimistic about Ford saying my 22 to 23 order will get built before any original 23 orders, including dealer stock. Are Lux packages going to magically not be constrained for 23 production? Seems unlikely as @fordvideoguy said last week that some constraint items are getting worse, not better.

I stopped at my dealer yesterday and spoke to the inventory manager.

I have an order in for an XLT Lux with Fx4 and tow package.

I was told the same thing as last month. Still unscheduled, multiple constraints due luxury package. I have been told twice now that I will probably not get a MY22 unless I drop the lux package. He did say that bed cleats in the lux are constrained.

The dealership has opted in for missing item delivery, so I am hoping that @Ford Motor Company will build my Maverick and ship me any missing cleats or other lux pack modules later. This seems to be my only chance at a MY22.

I would rather get my truck now and put the lux pack items in as they become available. I am not going to wait a year and a half by the time they get around to building and delivering MY23 lux pack trucks.

Maybe for MY23 they will abandon the whole LUX package and make it ala-cart. That way "you only pay for what you need". Kind of sounds like a Liberty Mutual commercial.

Where is Limu Emu???

Well, I do think there is a good chance Ford changes what is included in the packages for MY23, based on constrained parts. @fordvideoguy has alluded to as much, basically saying that MY23 trim and package levels may be somewhat downgraded from what they are currently.

So, assuming Ford offers price protection for MY22 customers who are pushed to MY23, how will that work when the packages/options are no longer the same?

Very good summary. I'm in the same boat (order details in signature), and although very thankful for @fordvideoguy giving us all that info last night, I am a bit more pessimistic I'll get mine as a MY22 because of the supply chain/constraint issues.

On the flip side, I definitely want all the stuff I ordered, so I'll wait. If I get a MY23 instead, perhaps it'll have some neat additions like a split rear seat or other colors or who knows what. At the very least they'll have worked out some of the first model year kinks with software patches by then.

Good question. I guess they could still offer the Lux but also have all of the Lux options available as individual choices. Just a thought.

If I could drop from xlt Lux to no option XL I would seriously be thinking of doing that for 2022. You loose a lot not getting the LUX. I think I would be a sad panda with just the XLT. So close but so far away from what it could have been.

If I'm not scheduled end of April maybe I'll rethink dropping LUX. I might also keep an eye on other vehicles in inventory. Like XL rangers.

Great question. The thing I can say is that in the past with other models where there were a bunch of orders carried over from one model year to the next, they have adjusted the base price to reflect the change. Example, on the 21MY Bronco Wildtrak the hard top was standard. They needed to take that off as standard and so the reduced the base price on the trim the reflect that, I think it was the difference in the upgrade price if someone wanted it.

Only time will tell but one thing I have noticed is that Ford will always try to make it right with the buyer. Just like they did with the 4k Tow Package not being available with fwd. They gave customers that needed to go awd the difference in the cost of awd by giving them a $2220 private offer.
