Mine will have sat in Mexico for 50 days if in fact my new expected delivery date to the dealership is correct for May 14th. (will be 80+ days from when built on 02/23/22) I have zero confidence in my electrical being without issues once i get it, 12V battery will be trash, no idea how the Hybrid battery will react to sitting in the desert. I thought chip shortage was their problem, Ford hasn't changed in 50 years, i have a terrible gut feeling this Truck i get is going to be a POS service nightmare, that shouldn't be! P.S. Not to mention the added costs i've incurred on my current vehicle waiting for the Maverick, the salesman and i laughed when we thought i might not get it until Christmas 2021, WOW were we off!

Regards your 12v battery you should be fine. I've bought new 'birthday' trucks before (F150's that were unloved due to either being weirdly optioned or unpopular body styles, namely reg. cab or extended cab) that had sat on the dealer's lot over a year. If the price was right - back when there were hefty FoMoCo incentives plus dealer discounts to get the truck off the lot plus personal cash offer (PCO) - it was worthwhile for me to buy it, even knowing the battery was at minimum over a year old, possible flat spots on the tires if the dealer hadn't moved it periodically during it's stay on their lot. Never had a 12v battery issue.

Regards hybrid battery, can't see where that would be an issue either.

It will be fine. Cars and trucks and boats and tractors and million other battery-using machines have been sitting in the heat of the American southwest for decades, and to think that the latest and greatest-engineered batteries aren't going to last a few month in the heat is just paranoia. A typical summer in Phoenix is 3 months of 100 degree plus days and I've never heard a peep about rampant battery failures.

so lithium does have some degradation in hot climates when left in the sun, but that is over years on overall life. this is a few months in mexico in the winter. Much less radiant heat of the type that heat soaks. Not saying it wont get hot, but not a huge concern. Your battery will be ok. On the climate, very dry with low oxidizing elements. actually great for autos, but of course, not as good as a garage. I just would be ticked off that my completed car is sitting outside in Mexico instead of in my driveway. THAT I completely get!!

I'm Soured big time with Ford! just built a RAV4 Hybrid online, $11K more but i could swing it after selling the Maverick. Really don't like the "Transformer's" look of the new RAV4's though.

Mine was built Sept 13 (first day of production), i received it Jan 14. That’s 120 days or so? It’s all good battery-system-wise, I do understand how it drives you mad though to know tve truck is just sitting there 🤯

Ooh, good to know, thanks! Bought an in stock John Deere zero turn mower a couple years ago that sat outside for 9 months, went to pick it up and the 12V battery was toast, they quickly installed a new one, maybe that's worst case scenario hopefully. Have never had an issue with that mower yet!

It's gonna be fine man. By your logic is every owners vehicle in Arizona or Texas toast every summer?

Back in the says when dealers had hundreds of cars on the lots, unwanted cars would sit way longer than 50 days on the asphalt lot until they knocked enough money off of sticker to make it move

Same here. My hybrid was built Sept. 21, sat in Mexico until being delivered Jan 5. No problems I know of.

Mine sat in Mexico for 3 months and it's fine. Yours will be fine as well. Relax and you'll soon be enjoying your new truck. The RAV is a great vehicle but (a) it's not a truck and (b) $11,000 is a lot of money.
