George Jetson Sound in Drive

Frist off let me begin by saying, I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW, why the sound is there on the Hybrids at low speeds, I get that. Hypothetical if someone was to, lets say, try to defeat this sound what would be the means by which a certain someone would do such a thing in the Maverick Hybrid? I am just asking for a friend who lives down in Mexico and who owns a Hybrid Maverick, just sayin'

There's usually a speaker box mounted somewhere in the front bumper/grill area that can be unplugged on other makes/models. I'm not saying anyone in the US or Mexico should do it but it can be done. Usually they make them a PITA to get to as a way of trying to stop people from doing it .

If your friend in Mexico does take that part off, have him send it back to Ford. It may be just the part that is needed to complete another Maverick.

The trick is instead connecting a resistor that matches the load of the speaker, apparently.

Even with the radio off, I barely hear it. Does this really bother people that much? It's for the safety of others - leave it on.

And for those who need a personal incentive not to mess with this, if you were to accidentally hit a pedestrian, the fact that you intentionally defeated a safety device will probably open you up to enhanced criminal charges and punitive damages in the civil trial.
