Just got my XLT hybrid. Pretty cool! BUT!

Apple CarPlay won't come on. Plugging in, using USB cable. But there is no power to the dash usb port, nor to the usb-c port either. iPhone and CarPlay works just fine in my other car. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No power? The phone doesn't charge? Same cable works in a different vehicle? Did you try a different cable that works elsewhere?

Have you tried the USB ports inside the center console (under the arm rest)?

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.

Try swapping out with a different cable? Are the USB ports illuminated?

Welcome to the many Maverick Gremlins when it comes to CarPlay!

I have all kinds of issues with connecting and disconnecting. Also the GPS likes to freeze up.

Alot of times I just unplug it and plug it back in. But there has been a time or two where it needs shut off with restarted.

I know your issue is the cable and USB plugs not working, I haven’t had that issue yet.

Check the fuse... Then take it back to the dealer for fix

I had the exact same issues in my 18' Fiesta ST. For some reason the car did not like a specific (cheap) replacement cable. I grabbed the cable that came with the phone and boom, fixed. I have also had issues when my sync was out of date. If I remember correctly, the Maverick is running the older sync. Not sure if that's it but it wouldn't surprise me.

Almost sounds like they shipped out without the chip to make it work or the didn't install the fuse. It should be light up blue at night is it not?

Take that touchscreen out, toss it in the dumpster, pop in a cd player and escape the phone while driving. Good to go

I agree with many others here. When diagnosing such issues on any vehicle, always start by trying a different USB cable to see if that fixes the issue first. Kinda the equivalent in the IT world of "have you tried unplugging it, plugging it back in, then restarting the PC."

this is exactly what my dealer i T-person did at my dealership she could not get it to rec,car play with a off brand cable she went back into the dealership and got a apple cable and "BOOM" it all worked.
