We finished a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. From Central East Coast Florida to Maine and back, 14 days and about 3800 miles, averaged about 38 mpg, with a huge amount of those miles at speeds from 70 to 80+. Obviously had a lot of miles in local driving. My best tank was 46, and my worst was 33. Comfort-wise, I'm not going to complain. I'm 73 and have felt worse at a younger age in other vehicles I've owned. This is a great little truck. If only I could get a discount on tolls. $81 worth, starting in Maryland. Ouch.

Awesome trip! For the tolls, yeah, that's why I go up through the great valley and freeway I-81. I have many other tricks too. Can get to NJ for free and NY or NE for about 20 bucks in tolls. My Mav was specifically bought to be a toll shunner. Maine is a great place to visit it seems.

I just had my first failure fixed on my 23 Lariat Hybrid at 17,500kms, other than the 5 recalls done. The battery sulfated and would go into battery saver mode overnight. It was fixed with a replacement battery under warranty. It still has a couple of things messed up that need software fixes, like the reintroduction in the last recall update of the slow-speed excess brake problem as you come to a stop, and the still-faulty BMS settings for a flooded battery type. Maybe they will put together an over-the-air update to fix these last few issues instead of doing a dealer visit to have a mechanic plug in a USB key for 5 minutes.

That's why I moved to Florida when I retired from living in New York. Between the bridge tolls, car inspections, working in the city (federal, state, and city taxes) I now have enough money to survive.

Took a bunch of pics, but me, being me, didn't think to take any with the truck. :)

The trip up took sooo long, due to backups, slowdowns, and stop-and-go traffic. Southbound looked as bad, if not worse. We took an alternate route coming back. It took us as long coming back as it did going up, but we were moving all the way and avoided all the NY, NJ, etc tolls.
