I looked at the Intercooler on mine and there is a lot of plastic in front of it that blocks air flow to the intercooler, the Buscher intercooler only mentions Temperature rise under boost, not pressure drop. It sure seems like to me a different inlet with a air dam under it to direct more flow to the existing intercooled would bring the temps down. There is even a plastic block in the middle in front of it and the blades all the way across, inside and out, that's a lot of plastic blocking air flow. Different cars through the years used a air dam under the front to create more air flow through the radiator, I wonder if that would help the Maverick have more flow through the intercooler? what's the purpose of those blades anyway?

You're comparing apples and oranges. Two different vehicles doing two different things.

The factory intercooler is way undersized and the intake air temps get extremely high very quickly. The shutters are there to control temps when it's cold, we delete those with our intercooler upgrade. The pressure drop is less with our large bar and plate core, the ECU is constantly struggling to restrict power/torque, so gains can be made with bolt ons, our intake is one of the top power adders we've changed that the tune didn't try to limit the gains, the tuning is needed to realize all the full potential of the added parts.

Only thing holdin you back is your budget.

How fast do you want to spend?

I see the BMW 2.0 turbo has 300 hp. Has anyone actually researched the Maverick motor to see how to get more HP. I've looked at all the you tube videos and it seems the the intercooler is undersized. Anyone modified past the cat for improvements?

Different people, different strokes.
Who is planning a stroker build. These can go to 2.5 right? That alone should crack 300. Then turn up the dial and you got a tuned 350hp Mav!
