My only consolation is that the small local dealer I ordered from has someone else's ordered Maverick on the lot today. And an XLT Lux to boot.

What I don't understand is that Ford cut off ordering when they reached order totals they felt they could build (so they claimed). If they intend to build all our orders, then what is the point of sticking to allocations? Why not first in first out allowing for constraints of course. Makes no sense.

Yup. They cut off orders when they maxed out capacity, but if 50% are just going to be stock units, that likely leaves a lot of reservation holders without trucks.

I doubt 50 percent are going to be for stock. Why build stock when you already have them sold on retail orders?

It doesn't make sense from the dealership perspective, either. Wait around for someone to pay $5K over invoice as a market adjustment, knowing it will affect your allotments for future vehicles?

Or sell the truck the day it gets on your lot, get the holdback and profit that's built into MSRP and not piss off Ford?

If you're a dealer that opts for the first option, you're not going to be in business for long because you're making a buck now at the cost of hundreds of bucks down the road. Can't sell what you ain't got.

The article literally says only 50% of Bronco production is going to reservations holders. The whole point of this thread is the worry that Maverick production is similarly allocated.

If Ford knew how bad the current chip shortage is/will be, they would have cut off ordering even earlier. They botched the demand for the Maverick and maybe their ability to build the product as well.

I figured my Jan Mav eb Granger order would become a MY 23. In fact I hope it does because my wife’s lease is up May of 23 so I hope to change any new options when they’re announced.

My local June hybrid order was supposed to replace my lease that ended in October but I had to extend it to April. Now my scheduled build in April means I’ll be without a car for 1 to 2 months. Just a pain in the *#% trying to plan with these allocations. We’ll see if my plan of ordering eb 15 months before I need it is good enough.

IF it's a Ford, they SHOULD extend your lease until the Maverick comes in. THis would be the RIGHt thing to do

The point I was trying to make was that I have a similar scenario although I'm not on social media platforms like facebook. It was just a clarification.........honestly, people are so strung out on this forum waiting for a truck. I imagine some of you look like this:

I was told by my salesman that my second lease extension should not be a problem. I'll need mine renewed in April.

Here’s another fun angle. GM changed their rules for buying out a lease. I could probably get more than my buyout from Carvana but GMs new rule says you can only sell to a GM dealer (or buy it yourself and pay tax). I’m not going to do that and hope I make out later.
